We are of those assemblies and groups who observe the commanded annual holy days as found in the Scriptures. The annual holy day that will occur during the period of time that this issue of our magazine covers, May-June 2008, is the feast of Pentecost. The annual holy days teach us so many, many things if we will choose to observe them and allow Yahweh’s Spirit to guide us. Let’s see what the Spirit of Yahweh teaches us about this annual observance this year.

By Jerry Healan

  The primary command for the observance of this annual holy day is found in the book of Leviticus chapter 23, “And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: And he shall wave the sheaf before Yahweh, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto Yahweh. And the meat offering thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto Yahweh for a sweet savour: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin. And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your Elohim: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto Yahweh. Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto Yahweh,” v.v. 9-17.

  Notice that there is a count of 50 days that must be done in order to reach this annual observance. The count begins with the offering of the sheaf of firstfruits (v.v. 10-11, 15). We have published articles that deal with the sheaf and the count. They are entitled “The Sheaf of Firstfruits” and “How Should We Count To Pentecost?” We will be very happy to provide these articles for you upon request if you desire or need a copy. But the number fifty is a spiritually significant number because it represents jubilee, liberty, freedom.

  We want to focus our attention upon the leavened loaves that were to be brought out of their habitations because all things that were done, were types for something else. For instance, we have revealed in our article that focuses on the sheaf of firstfruits that the sheaf represented the resurrected Savior from the dead. It was offered in the morning after the regular Sabbath that occurred during the days of unleavened bread (the first day of the week). Yahshua ascended to be accepted as the firstborn from the dead on that morrow after the Sabbath during the days of unleavened bread, “Yahshua saith unto her (Miriam), Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my Elohim, and your Elohim,” Jn. 20:17.

  The countdown to Pentecost or the Feast of Weeks or Feast of Firstfruits was begun on that very day and on the fiftieth day the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of liberty and freedom) was poured out upon Yahshua’s disciples, “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance,” Acts 2:1-4.

THE LEAVENED LOAVES

  The sheaf of firstfruits that was offered on the morrow after the regular Sabbath typified the resurrected Savior. With His acceptance as the firstborn from the dead, the count was begun to Pentecost wherein the New Testament Assembly was raised up. The two wave loaves baked with leaven typified the New Testament Assembly. But why were there two loaves? Why were they baked with leaven? These questions and others must be answered.

  The disciples understood that Yahshua was the promised Messiah, “When Yahshua came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Eliyah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Messiah, the Son of the living Elohim,” Mt. 16:13-16.

  They also understood that He, being the promised Messiah, had come to restore the kingdom to Israel, “When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Master, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?” Acts 1:6.

  Israel had been separated into two kingdoms after the reign of Solomon, son of David. The northern kingdom was begun to be ruled by Jeroboam, an Ephraimite of the tribe of Joseph. The northern kingdom retained the name Israel and her capital was at Samaria. They became known as the ten tribes. The southern kingdom continued to be ruled at Jerusalem under the descendants of David, descendants of Judah. Thus, we have two kingdoms wherein the two loaves would represent.

  The northern kingdom departed from Yahweh right away turning back to the abomination that Aaron and Israel committed by making the golden calf and worshipping it during Moses’ forty day tenure in the mount wherein he was receiving instructions concerning the tabernacle, priesthood, etc. (Ex. 24 – 32) The Northern kingdom placed a golden calf in Bethel and in Dan. Yahweh sent His prophets to Israel to warn them to turn from their ways, but they refused and were cast out of the land by 721 BCE.

  Judah continued to dwell in the land, but Solomon had erected temples to all of the deities of his foreign wives and the children of Israel under the Jewish kings were also committing abominations, “Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit. Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations? Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith Yahweh. But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel. And now, because ye have done all these works, saith Yahweh, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not; Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh. And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim. Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee,” Jer. 7:8-16.

  In our article entitled “What Leaven Represents,” (Yahshua’s Witness Magazine, Mar. – Apr. 2008) we revealed that leaven represents sin and false doctrine. While the leavened loaves could have represented both of the houses of Israel, they were brought forth on the Feast of Pentecost, which the same day that Yahweh raised up the New Testament Assembly as revealed in Acts 2. The Apostle Paul reveals more concerning what the two loaves represent, “Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without the Messiah, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without Yahweh in the world: But now in the Messiah Yahshua ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Messiah. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto Yahweh in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh,” Eph. 2:11-17.

  The loaves, thusly, would represent both the Israelites who had been made the commonwealth of Yahweh through the Covenant of Moses, and the non-Hebrews, the non-Israelites who were excluded from that commonwealth through that same covenant. Both Israel and Judah were sown among the nations of the earth because of their unfaithfulness to the covenant.

LEAVEN

  The loaves were leavened, which typifies the current state of the assembly. The Apostle Paul made this clear in the book of Romans, “Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of the Messiah; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto Yahweh. For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Yahweh forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Was then that which is good made death unto me? Yahweh forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of Yahweh after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” Ro. 7:4-24.

  What is Paul saying here? The Messiah died so that our transgressions, our sin, our law-breaking might be forgiven. Once we are baptized and washed clean from our sins, then we are alive without the law. But Paul reveals that even though he was dead to the law, sin revived because there is a law of sin in the flesh. That law of sin is the leaven of the flesh and even though a person may be called and forgiven and has received an earnest of the Spirit, the problem is that the flesh does not stay dormant. Paul says that sin revives.

  Sin is the transgression of the law (1 Jn. 3:4). John writes to us encouraging us that we sin not (1 Jn. 2:1). But in the very same sentence he says, “And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Yahshua the Messiah the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world,” 1 Jn. 2:1-2.

  Paul reveals in Romans 7 and Galatians 5 that we must struggle against the law of sin in the flesh. Sometimes it is so frustrating because it seems like a losing battle, and that is when, in his frustration, he cries, “O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? (Ro. 7:24). The answer comes immediately, “I thank Yahweh through Yahshua the Messiah our Sovereign,” v. 25. (first part) But notice how he finishes verse 25, “So then with the mind I myself serve the law of Yahweh; but with the flesh the law of sin.”

  He reveals elsewhere that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven, “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of Elohim; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption,” 1 Cor. 15:50. Thus, the two loaves baked with leaven represent the current state of the assembly, the body of the Messiah. We only receive an earnest of the spirit, which is a down payment to hold us until the day of redemption. In this state, we are still subject to the sin that is in the flesh and must resist it with the power of the Spirit through obedience to the commandments.

THE WITNESS

  If you will read Revelation chapters 2 and 3, you will find a thumbnail sketch of the history of the New Testament Assembly. Only two assemblies have nothing bad said about them. One, the Smyrna Assembly is persecuted and martyred to the grave. The other, the Philadelphia Assembly, does not deny His name. This can mean many things. The first, of course, is exactly what it says, His name was Yahshua, not Jesus. But above that, the very word “name” in Hebrew also means authority, honor, character, etc. The flesh with the law of sin contained therein is corruptible and mortal. It is filled with leaven and is not suitable for the kingdom of heaven. We must be resurrected or changed from that which is mortal and corruptible to that which is immortal and incorruptible.

  Our current mission is not to declare ourselves, but to be subject to the Spirit of truth, which witnesses of Yahshua and how He is spoken of in the Scriptures. He declared to the people of His day, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. I receive not honour from men. But I know you, that ye have not the love of Yahweh in you. I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from Yahweh only? Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?” Jn. 5:39-47.

  He told His disciples, “If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you….But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you,” Jn. 14:15-17, 26. “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.” Jn. 15:26. “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you” Jn. 16:7-15.

  Thus, our witness must be about Yahshua and His fulfillment of the Scriptures.

FIRSTFRUITS

  The leavened loaves that were brought forth were called “the firstfruits unto Yahweh” (Lev. 23:17). The Hebrew word for “firstfruits” is bikkuwrim (mrwkb). It is defined as the first-fruits of the crop (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance) and is generally translated as first fruit, hasty fruit, etc. It stems from another Hebrew word which is bakar (rkb) which is defined as; to burst the womb, i.e. (causatively) bear or make early fruit (of woman or tree); also (as denominative from 1061) to give the birthright. (IBID)

  The firstfruits assembly was raised up on the Feast of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was given to the disciples. We have come down through almost two thousand years now while the firstfruits are being sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Yahshua, Himself, said that many are called, but few are chosen (Mt. 22:14). During this period of time, the leavened loaves have applied to the New Testament Assembly. But the day is coming, as Paul wrote, when the mortal and corruptible will be resurrected or changed to immortal and incorruptible. This will take place sometime in the near future on another annual holy day, the next holy day to be fulfilled.

  The book of Revelation speaks of the first resurrection, “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Yahshua, and for the word of Yahweh, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with the Messiah a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of Yahweh and of the Messiah, and shall reign with him a thousand years,” Rev. 20:1-6.

  Another time of great persecution is going to come upon Yahshua’s disciples. This is revealed in the fifth seal of chapter 6, “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of Yahweh, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Sovereign, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled,” v.v. 9-11.

  They will all be resurrected at the sound of the trumpet of Yahweh, “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to Yahweh, which giveth us the victory through our Sovereign Yahshua the Messiah. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Sovereign, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in Yahweh,” 1 Cor. 15:51-58.

  There will no longer be any leaven in their bodies, for they will have been resurrected with new incorruptible and immortal bodies. These resurrected firstfruits are revealed in Revelation fourteen, “And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto Yahweh and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of Yahweh,” vv. 1-5.

  These are the ones represented by the leavened loaves of Pentecost. They are the firstfruits unto Yahweh. They are the first to be redeemed and born from the sons of Adam into the power, honor and glory of the kingdom of heaven. They will be kings and priests forever and ever, serving under Yahshua the Messiah Who is King of kings and Sovereign of sovereigns. He also is the heavenly High Priest after the order of Melchizedek. Have you been called and sealed to serve in this great capacity? Their redemption and appearance will serve to the further salvation of all peoples of the earth. May that day come soon!

LA ESCRITURA DE VERDAD NOW AVAILABLE!

  The Spanish version of the Sacred Name Scriptures is now available! Brother Diego Garcia had approached us for help to publish the version of the Spanish Scripture that he had been working on in excess of 20 years. He not only produced a Spanish version, but he also learned to speak English by working up an English version. The English version is just about ready to go to press, but we do need more donations in order to make this version a reality. If you can find it in your heart and pocketbook to dig down to help then we are soliciting your donations for this effort.

  The current Spanish version is only available in hard bound. There are no soft, nor leather covers at this point. However, we must say that it has already become very popular because of the orders being placed not only for the states, but in various countries around the world. We have determined that the per copy cost should be $25.00 plus $5.00 shipping and handling in the U. S. Foreign orders should include at least $15.00 to $20.00 for shipping and handling.

  You can order your copy by writing here at YEA, P. O. Box 31, Atlanta, TX 75551.

For "Average Joe's From An Average Joe"

Satan gets the blame for a lot of things. Every bad thing that happens in this world, or in our lives, he gets the blame for. Some deserved, some not. As Flip Wilson says, "the devil made me do it!" However, it's really NOT satan's GAME to make us do anything. HIS GAME—the one that causes him to sit back and chuckle with glee--IS TO DECEIVE--TRICK--DISTORT—MISLEAD—LIE!  So WHAT is satan's favorite trick? To sit back and watch you learn the word of Yahweh (god); believe you've come to understand the scriptures—doctrines; grace; faith; obedience; repentance; salvation—all the good stuff; while at the same time, he coaxes you along in some secret, presumptuous sin nobody knows about or, a blind spot in your character that's so, obvious to everybody but you. YOU'RE JUST A FISH—not even a big fish—a stinky fish—not a big fish—BUT YOU'RE HIS FISH (satan's)—all dressed up; goin' to church; bible in your hand; sweet song in your heart; "Amen Brother!" on your lips; feelin' good; Praise the Lord!"; so joyously swimming around in THE SEA OF THIS LIFE, WITH HIS HOOK IN YOUR MOUTH—bait, hook, line, sinker—and come the day of your death—or "THE DAY OF YAHWEH" (god)—if you haven't AWAKENED AND SPIT THAT HOOK and its bait OUT OF YOUR MOUTH—YOUR LIFE...

 BROTHER, YOU'RE ONE DEAD FISH!

1Ti 5:24--The sins of some men are obvious, leading on to judgment, but those of some men follow later.

Php 2:12--So that, my beloved, as you always obeyed – not only in my presence, but now much rather in my absence – work out your own deliverance with fear and trembling,

1Jn 2:6--The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked.

Rev 12:17--And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the commands of Elohim (Our Mighty One) and possessing the witness of (Yahshua)יהושע   Messiah.

Rev 14:12--Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of Elohim (Our Mighty One) and the belief of (Yahshua) יהושע.

Rev 22:11-14--"He who does wrong, let him do more wrong; he who is filthy, let him be more filthy; he who is righteous, let him be more righteous; he who is set-apart; let him be more set-apart.And see I am coming speedily; and My reward is with Me, to give each according to his work.  I am the 'Aleph and the Taw', the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. Blessed are those doing His commands, so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city."

By Brick Parrish

Many Christians believe we were given a new commandment – “If it seems right to you, go ahead and do it!” They say that Paul taught we now have freedom to do anything we want. We are under grace, so all things are legal now. We are not under that nasty old law anymore. Peter told us that some of Paul’s writings were hard to understand. So, is it possible that we don’t really understand some of the things he said?  Let’s examine some of these things in order to see how this may or may not be true.

  1Co 6:12  All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

  Wow! Does this give us license to do anything we want? All we have to do is become believers and we can do everything the pagans do without the consequences. All things are now legal to eat or do? If we are now under grace and cannot sin, then why does Paul go into all his diatribes against sin? Why bother if all things, while maybe not expedient, are now legal for us to do?

  Or, Heaven forbid, maybe we really don’t understand what he meant. After all, he had just spoken the following words:

  1Co 6:9  Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of Elohim? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

1Co 6:10  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of  Yahweh .

Now this really doesn’t make much sense if we understand it this way. It is legal to do all these things, but if you do, you won’t make it into the kingdom of Yahweh. Obviously, we’re not getting the whole picture. There is a word play here in the Greek that cannot be accurately conveyed in the English language. Perhaps, a better understanding of this would be that all these things are in Paul’s power to do, but not proper to do so. Paul made the same argument in chapter 10 about eating things sacrificed to idols.

  Paul would hardly be teaching anything that conflicted with Torah. From the way Paul expressed things, the Greek scriptures and our unfamiliarity with Torah, some things have been lost in the translation. A better approach might be to do as Paul did, not necessarily what you think he said to do.

  Some like to use Romans 14 to prove they may eat anything now.

  Rom 14:2  For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

Rom 14:3  Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for Elohim hath received him.

Rom 14:4  Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for Elohim is able to make him stand.

Rom 14:5  One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

Rom 14:6  He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto Yahweh; and he that regardeth not the day, to Yahweh he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to Yahweh, for he giveth Elohim thanks; and he that eateth not, to Yahweh  he eateth not, and giveth Elohim thanks.

  These verses are contrasting the eating of clean meats to vegetarianism. They are not saying it is okay to eat anything. Contrary to what some of you might think, Paul never ate a pork chop in his entire life. Another thing to be noted here, there is nothing in these verses about the Sabbath. Some use verse 5, to their own peril, to prove they can establish their own “Sabbath” day on any day of the week. Paul was talking about fasting in this verse. The Jews fasted, according to their own traditions, twice a week on the second and fifth days.  Others did not fast on those days or at all. It was a man made tradition, not the commandment of Yahweh to do so. They were not to judge each oth er if one fasted and the other didn’t.

  Well, what about verse 14 then?

  Rom 14:14  I know, and am persuaded by the Master Yahshua, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

Rom 14:15  But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Messiah died.

  Note again, this is a continuation of Paul’s exhortation not to judge our brother in his eating habits.  Whether anything is unclean of itself or not is debatable. I find it hard to believe Paul is saying a buzzard or a spider, for example, is not unclean of itself. There are many things that are unclean of themselves, so it is doubtful that Paul had in mind unclean things that Yahweh had already placed off limits for food. Whether the things listed in Lev. 11 are unclean of themselves or not, hardly matters, they are unclean to us and forbidden for food because Yahweh said so. Let’s move on to another verse that causes problems for some:

  Col 2:16  Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Col 2:17  Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Messiah.

  Paul was warning the Colossians they were being judged by deceivers who were trying to  impose their paganistic doctrines upon them. Some have tried to say that this proves the Sabbath and food laws were abolished. It does nothing of the sort. The word “therefore” in verse 16 refers to all that he has just told them. He was forbidding the adoption of pagan practices, the commandments and doctrines of men, which would eventually perish. The only ones who were to judge them was “the body of Messiah.” The little italicized word “is” is not in the Greek in verse 17. The translator obviously didn’t understand what Paul meant and didn’t think you would either, so he added the word “is” to help clarify it for you. Leave out the “is” here and it makes perfect sense (No one is to judge you, but the body of Messiah). See how the addition of punctuation and little italicized words can cloud the whole meaning of a verse.

   The things mentioned in verse 16 are called types and shadows of things still to come. The Feasts of Yahweh and the weekly Sabbath represent prophetic events, some of which will be fulfilled when Yahshua returns.

  Here is another scripture used to justify eating anything:

  1Co 8:8  But meat commendeth us not to Elohim: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.

1Co 8:9  But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.

  This whole chapter is talking about eating meat sacrificed to idols. Of course, Paul is not talking about eating a pig. He is speaking of meat that would be considered clean according to Lev. 11. If you carefully read verse 8, it says you are not better if you eat it, nor are you worse off if you don’t eat.  It is a complete wash, you gain nothing either way.

1Ti 4:1  Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

1Ti 4:2  Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

1Ti 4:3  Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which Elohim hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

1Ti 4:4  For every creature of Elohim is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

1Ti 4:5  For it is sanctified by the word of Elohim and prayer.

  Now, an unlearned person would just read this on the surface and believe it is saying that it is a doctrine of demons to abstain from meats, which Yahweh created for food. All you have to do now is pray over your ham sandwich and Presto! It is now clean. The key is in verse 3, “meats which Elohim created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth”. He tells us what those things are in Lev. Chapter 11. These are the clean things He ordained that we could use for food. Nowhere in the Word of Yahweh are unclean foods ever sanctified (set apart). The unbelievers can eat anything they so desire, but Yahweh’s people are to be set apart (kadosh) unto Him. Your body is the temple of the Ruach HaKodesh, why would you want to defile it by eating unclean things?

  If you still believe pork has somehow been sanctified by the word of Yahweh and prayer, then let’s read what Isaiah had to say would take place on the Day of Yahweh.

  Isa 66:15  For, behold, Yahweh will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

Isa 66:16  For by fire and by his sword will Yahweh plead with all flesh: and the slain of Yahweh shall be many.

Isa 66:17  They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith Yahweh.

  Note what it does NOT say. “Pork eating Christians won’t be wiped out with the pork eating heathen because they will have already been “raptured” out in a secret coming of Yahshua.” The problem here is, there will be no secret coming of Yahshua. He told his disciples in Matt. 24:25-26 that he was warning them beforehand, that there would be false prophets that would say his coming would be in secret. Rev. 1:7 plainly states EVERY eye will see him when he returns. So, we’re still left with a dilemma. Who are these pork eaters? They’re not the Moslems or Jews, so who could they possibly be?

  Isa 65:1  I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name  (or not calling upon my name – how many call upon the name of Yahweh?).

Isa 65:2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;

Isa 65:3  A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;

Isa 65:4 Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

Isa 65:5  Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day

  Paul tells us who they are.

  Rom 10:20  But Isaiah is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

Rom 10:21  But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

  According to the Apostle Paul, they are Israel. They are us!  When you become a believer, you are grafted into Israel. You become no different than any other Israelite. All the prophecies that apply to Israel now pertain to you. Yahweh has no other people apart from Israel. If you are not Israel, you do not belong to Him PERIOD.

  Actually, Isaiah 66: 19-21 also gives us the same information as to the identity of this pork-eating people. The survivors of this group of people will help gather Israel from all nations and present them to Yahweh, as an offering in a clean vessel. He will then take of them for priests and Levites. These are the ones who commonly refer to themselves as Christians. They are lost identity Israelites in dispersion. It doesn’t sound like Yahweh is completely pleased with them either. If Yahweh is pleased with the “Church”, then He has changed!

  Did Messiah say anything about changing the law? Did he condone eating unclean food? Did he ever eat swine’s flesh? Some people think he said it was okay to eat anything, so let’s see what he did say. First of all, he made it very clear in his very first recorded sermon that he did not come to change the law (Torah).

  Mat 5:17  Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Mat 5:18  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

  That sounds pretty clear, doesn’t it? Heaven and earth are still here and all things are not  yet fulfilled. So, if he taught anything different, then this statement was not true and we have a big problem and no savior. Remember, the law included the clean/unclean food laws. So, let’s look at one scripture that some think was Yahshua’s okay to now eat anything.

  Mat 15:9  But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Mat 15:10  And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:

Mat 15:11  Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

  There it is, the smoking gun… Yahshua plainly states that it isn’t what you eat that defiles you, but what comes out of your mouth.  So, now you can go eat your ham sandwich, it doesn’t defile you anymore. I guess what he is saying here then, is that anyone teaching you that it is forbidden to eat pork is teaching man’s commandments.

  If you just listened to these Christian sound bytes, taken out of context, you would get that same impression. But, why not read the whole chapter to see what he is talking about. The “commandments of men” that Yahshua referred to was about washing your hands before you eat. This is what the whole thing is about. Was this a commandment of Yahweh or of man? Yahshua clarifies this a few verses later.

  Mat 15:19  For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

Mat 15:20  These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man

  It is clearly a doctrine of man. Compare the Mark chapter 7 version of this account.

  What about Peter’s vision in Acts Chapter 10, wasn’t Yahweh showing him that it was now okay to eat all those abominable things?

  Act 10:10  And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

Act 10:11  And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

Act 10:12  Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

Act 10:13  And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

Act 10:14  But Peter said, Not so Yahweh; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

Act 10:15  And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What Elohim hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

  Again, many read these sound bytes and stop right there. Elohim has cleansed all those unclean things, so they are now okay to eat. But, this is not the meaning of Peter’s vision. He explains what it meant in verse 28.

  Act 10:28  And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but Elohim hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

  It wasn’t about food at all. It was about Yahweh cleansing the gentiles also by the blood of Yahshua.

  Part of our problem is a lack of understanding of the scriptures from a Jewish perspective. If any part of the Renewed Covenant (New Testament) conflicts with Torah, it is to be discarded.  Fortunately, it does not conflict. There are areas we don’t understand because of a lack of understanding of Torah.  We think Paul and Peter are telling us something when the opposite may be true. To the Hebrew mind, unclean things were never even considered to be food. Consider the following scripture from the Torah:

  Deu 12:15  Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of Yahweh thy Elohim  which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.

  Did this mean that they could eat anything their soul lusted after? Of course not! That would have been a violation of Torah. However, they could kill and eat of any of the clean animals, two of which were mentioned here. The ritually clean and unclean person alike could eat of them.

  We know that the Apostle Paul kept the law, which included the Feasts, the clean food laws, the Sabbath and all that was written in the Torah.

  Act 25:7  And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.

Act 25:8  While he answered for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.

  Paul never taught that the law (Torah) was abolished. He kept it in all it’s aspects and taught his followers to do likewise.  He laid out some initial guidelines for the returning Israelites (gentiles) to begin a full torah walk. He didn’t try to lay everything on them all at once. But, from what he did tell them, we can see that the clean food laws and full Torah observance was in view.

  Act 15:19  Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to Elohim: ( the Greek word “Epistrepho” means to return or come back to)

Act 15:20  But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

Act 15:21  For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

  The idols and fornication were obvious no-no’s, but why the prohibition against things strangled?  It is because this was a common way the pagans sacrificed an animal. When an animal was strangled, the blood was never drained from it.  In contrast, when an animal was sacrificed by the Jews, its throat was slit with a sharp knife which resulted in a quick painless death for the animal.  The blood was then drained as commanded in the Torah.  Many gentile (grafted in Israelites) believers still consume blood in violation of Paul’s instructions and Torah. Rare steak anyone?

  Paul’s intentions are clearly in view here. He didn’t want to dump everything on them all at once. In verse 21, he explains that they can learn all the other necessary things as they go to the synagogues each Sabbath day.

  There is nothing in any of Paul’s actions that even remotely suggest he violated Torah. He admonished us to be imitators of him as he followed Yahshua (I Co.4:16). By his own admission, he did not offend in anything at all in the Torah.  He was fully Torah observant.

  Why would he have taught us otherwise?

    As long as you grab for what makes you feel good or makes you look important, are you really much different than a babe at the breast, content only when everything's going your way?

  The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what YHWH is doing! YHWH is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed. We can't afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight. Get out of bed and get dressed! Don't loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in anointing oil, and be up and about! Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own.

In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

  I am immersed in tears, yet always filled with deep joy; living on handouts, yet enriching many; having nothing, having it all. I can't tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide-open, spacious life. I'm speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection.

 Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively! The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren't small, but you're living them in a small way.

Rise up with a pure heart, clear head, steady hand; in gentleness, holiness, and honest love.

  Leave the corruption and compromise; leave it for good," "Don't link up with those who will pollute you. The world is unprincipled. It's dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn't fight fair. But we don't live or fight our battles that way - never have and never will.

   The tools of our trade aren't for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture.

   We use our powerful tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Messiah asking YHWH to give us wise minds and spirits attuned to his will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which YHWH works.

  I pray that you'll live well for the Master, making him proud of you as you work hard in his orchard. As you learn more and more how YHWH works, you will learn how to do your work.

  I pray that you'll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul - not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength YHWH gives. It is His strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy.

  Thank the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.

  You're sons of Light, daughters of Day. We live under wide open skies and know where we stand. So let's not sleepwalk through life like those others. Let's keep our eyes open and be smart. Since we're creatures of Day, let's act like it. Walk out into the daylight sober, dressed up in faith, love, and the hope of salvation.

  Your baptism was not just washing you up for a fresh start. It also involved dressing you in an adult faith wardrobe.

  Friends this world is not your home, so don't make yourselves cozy in it. Don't indulge your ego at the expense of your soul.

   Live an exemplary life among the natives so that your actions will refute their prejudices. Then they'll be won over to YHWH's side and be there to join in the celebration when he arrives.

   My counsel is this: Live freely, animated and motivated by YHWH's Spirit. Then you won't feed the compulsions of selfishness.

  For there is a root of sinful self-interest in us that is at odds with a free spirit, just as the free spirit is incompatible with selfishness. These two ways of life are antithetical, so that you cannot live at times one way and at times another way according to how you feel on any given day.

  Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything - and I do mean everything - connected with that old way of life has to go. It's rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life - a life renewed from the inside

and working itself into your conduct as YHWH accurately reproduces his character in you.

  What this adds up to, then, is this: no more lies, no more pretense. Tell your neighbor the truth. We all are connected to each other, after all. When you lie to others, you end up lying to yourself.

  Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry - but don't use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don't stay angry. Don't go to bed angry.

  Don't give the Finger-pointer that kind of foothold in your life.

  Did you used to make ends meet by stealing? Well, no more! Get an honest job so that you can help others who can't work.

  Watch the way you talk. Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth. Say only what helps, each word a gift.

   Don't grieve YHWH. Don't break his heart. His breath of life, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don't take such a gift for granted.

Make a clean break with all cutting, backbiting, profane talk.

   Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as YHWH forgave you.

  Think of your sufferings as a weaning from that old sinful habit of always expecting to get your own way. Then you'll be able to live out your days free to pursue what YHWH wants instead of being tyrannized by what you want.

   But you know better now, so make sure it's all gone for good: bad temper, irritability, meanness, profanity, dirty talk.

  Don't lie to one another. You're done with that old life. It's like a filthy set of ill-fitting clothes you've stripped off and put in the fire.

  Now you're dressed in a new wardrobe. Every item of your new way of life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it. All the old fashions are now obsolete.

  So, chosen by YHWH for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe YHWH picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline.

  Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it. Let peace keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word - the Message - have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to YHWH! Let every detail in your lives - words, actions, whatever - be done in the name of the Master, thanking YHWH every step of the way.

Totals:  2701  7 words  28 letters

  Ivan Panin points out the following over this amazing text of Scripture:

1.  There are 7 words:  7 x 1 = 7.

2.  There are 28 letters:  7 x 4 = 28.

3.  There are 3 nouns:  Elohim (86), heavens (395), and earth (296).  As they appear in this Scripture (including those with a definite

     article prefix: h ), these 3 add to 777:  7 x 111.

4.  There is one verb:  created.  The number equivalents of its letters add to 203:  7 x 29.

5.  The first three words contain the subject and these three have 14 Hebrew letters:  7 x 2.

6.  The last four words contain the object and these four have 14 Hebrew letters:  7 x 2.

7.  The Hebrew words for the two objects (“Ucrah  taw  Mymvh  ta”), each have seven letters:  Ucrah  taw (7 letters: 7 x 1) Mymvh  ta (7

     letters: 7 x 1) ←

9.  The first letter ( b:2 ), the middle letters ( a:1 , M:40 ), and the last letter ( U:90 ) in the sentence add up to 133: 7 x 19.

10.         Keeping in mind Hebrew is read from right to left, the misparim value of the first and last letter of all seven words is 1393: 7 x

      199.  This is seen just below with details provided:

  Misparim Value   First/Last Letters   Hebrew Word

  402   =   400:t, 2:b   :tyvarb

     3    =   1:a, 2:b   :arb

    41   =   40:M, 1:a   :Myhla

  401   =   400:t, 1:a   :ta

    45   =   40:M, 5:h   :Mymvh

  406   =  400:t, 6:w   :taw

    95  =   90:c, 5:h   :Ucrah

==============================================================

             1393  =   7 x 199

  11. The value of the first and last letters of the first and last words is 497 = 7 x 71:

  402  =   400:t 2:b:   :tyvarb

    95  =    90:c 5:h   :cUrah

==============================================================

  497  =   7 x 71

  12. The value of the first and last letters of all the words between the first and last words is 896 = 7 x 128:

     3   =   1:a 2:b   :arb

    41  =   40:M 1:a   :Myhla

  401  =   400:t 1:a   :ta

  45  =   40:M 5:h   :Mymvh

              406  =   400:t 6:w   :taw

==============================================================

             896  =   7 x 128

  13. There are three words with an even number of letters, and the sum of these three words is 1610 = 7 x 230:

  913 = (400) t + (10) y + (300) s + (1) a + (200) r + (2) b = tyvarb (6 letters)

401 = (400) t + (1) a = ta (2 letters)

296 = (90) c + (200) r + (1) a + (5) h = Urah (4 letters)

==============================================================

1610 = 7 x 230
