CHAPTER FOUR
CHAPTER ONE
CHAPTER TWO CHAPTER THREE
IS YAHSHUA HA MASHIACH?
(Is YAHshua The Messiah?)
As already shown in the previous chapters, the Shekhinah (the manifestation of HIS glorious presence) or Glory of YAHWEH spoke to Moses, the prophets, and was seen by all Israel. The following was stated in the article "Shekhinah."
According to *Saadiah Gaon, the Shekhinah is identical with kevod ha-Shem ("the glory of God"), which served as an intermediary between God and man during the prophetic experience. He suggests that the "glory of God" is the biblical term, and Shekhinah the talmudic term for the created splendor [the magnificent appearance] of light which acts as an intermediary between God and man, and which sometimes takes on human form.
As can be seen in the above quotation, the Shekhinah or Glory of YAHWEH can take on different forms, including Light and the form of a man. With that in mind, think of some of the functions of the Mashiach. The Mashiach was to be the sacrifice that YAHWEH would provide for the redemption of Israel and the whole human race. In addition to sitting on the throne of David, the Mashiach was to be priest, forever, after the order of Melchizedek. With these things in mind, would it be unthinkable for YAHWEH to temporally lay aside the divinity of a portion of HIS Shekhinah or Glory to take on the form of a man made of flesh to accomplish YAHWEH’S ingenious plan for the redemption of the human race? Would it be unthinkable for YAHWEH to temporally lay aside the divinity of a portion of HIS Shekhinah or Glory to become HIS Son made of human flesh to be the Mediator between HIMSELF and the entire human race?
YAHshua's emissaries declared that YAHshua is that Light that is the Mediator between YAHWEH and the human race!. They also affirm that YAHshua is the Mashiach and that He has already been made High Priest, forever, after the order of Melchisedec.
Approximately two thousand years ago, a few Jewish writers wrote several letters and documents concerning YAHshua. He was a very unusual man. According to the available writings, He was born to a young engaged virgin named Miriam (Mary). She gave birth to Him about five miles south of Jerusalem in the little town of Bethlehem of Judaea. He was conceived in the womb of His mother by YAHWEH'S Spirit. (Once again, YAHWEH'S Spirit is HIS attributes, characteristics or HIS very essence. HIS Spirit is composed of seven basic characteristics or attributes that transcend or surpass all the laws of nature. They are: HIS Wisdom, HIS Understanding, HIS Counsel, HIS Might, HIS Knowledge, HIS Reverence, and HIS Righteousness.) YAHWEH used HIS Spirit to create a new life in Miriam's womb by the same method HE used in the Creation. The method that YAHWEH used in the Creation is found in the book of Psalms. He SPOKE the word and it was DONE!
Psa. 33 (6) By The Word of YAHWEH were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. (7) He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. (8) Let all the earth fear YAHWEH: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. (9) For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
Sometimes, some of the scriptures containing prophecies of the Mashiach may appear to be concerning some other anointed person of YAHWEH. It is also possible that some prophecies of other anointed people are identical in many parts with the prophecies concerning the Mashiach. When either of these two situations occurs, one must depend on other scriptures for support to confirm these things according to YAHWEH'S testimony through the Torah and the prophets.
Another very important point to remember is that many of the writings that were available 1,900 to 2,500 years ago are not available at this time. Many of the writings that were available then were destroyed during the time Israel was under the rule of the Greeks; many more were destroyed while Israel was under the rule of the Romans. Some of the prophecies may not be as clear whom they were referring to in the writings available today as they were in the writings that existed in the past. Also, a mistaken or ambiguous prophecy does not nullify those that are very clear.
With the above comments in mind, read the following available scriptures concerning the Mashiach. Then one may be better informed to decide if the claims of a virgin birth of the child YAHshua, the place of His birth, and His claim to be the Son of YAHWEH agree with the Holy Scriptures.
Because YAHshua was conceived in the womb of His mother by YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit, YAHshua was called the Son of YAHWEH. Is this according to the "testimony" of YAHWEH through the prophets and in the Psalms concerning the Mashiach? One can be sure that the Mashiach was to be born as a male Child; for He is called a Son in the following scripture. Because of the differences in translations, two other translations of these verses will also be given. They disagree on the name the Mashiach was to be called, but all three translations agree that a male Child would establish His government upon the throne of David with justice and a never ending peace!
Isa. 9 (6) For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty El, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (7) Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of YAHWEH of Hosts will perform this.
The same scripture translated from the Masoretic text is somewhat different in the following translation. This translation was published and copyrighted by the Jewish Publication Society of America in 1955.
Isa. 9:5-6: For a child is born unto us, a son is given unto us; and the government is upon his shoulder; and his name is called Pele-joez-el-gibbor-Abi-ad-sar-shalom [A footnote reads, "that is, Wonderful in counsel is God the Mighty, the everlasting Father, the Ruler of peace."]; that the government may be increased, and of peace there be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it through justice and through righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Elohim of hosts doth perform this.
The next translation was also translated from the Masoretic text. This translation is found in The Interlinear Bible translated and copyrighted by J. P. Green, Sr. in 1986.
Isa. 9:6-7: For a Child is born; to us a Son is given; and the government is on His shoulder, and His name is called Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty Elohim, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. There is no end to the increase of His government and of peace on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to sustain it with justice and with righteousness, from now and forever. The zeal of Jehovah [YAHWEH] of hosts will do this.
In the next scripture from Isaiah chapter fifty-three, "a root out of a dry ground" refers to the virgin birth of the Mashiach. Israel is YAHWEH'S servant, but HE also addresses other nations and individuals as HIS servant. The servant spoken of in chapter fifty-two and fifty-three is speaking specifically of the Mashiach. In those two chapters, there are almost two dozen prophecies fulfilled by YAHshua. Only a few of them will be mentioned in this article.
Isa. 53 (2) For He shall grow up before HIM as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: He hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.
The people who claimed that they personally knew YAHshua asserted that this next scripture refers to Him. Whether this scripture refers to Him or, they still affirm that a virgin gave birth to Him.
Isa. 7 (14) Therefore my Sovereign HIMSELF shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel [EL with us].
Psalm two has several prophetical references concerning the Mashiach that also came to pass with YAHshua. There are two verses that attest to the fact that the Mashiach was to be YAHWEH'S Son. In verses one through five, YAHWEH clearly charges that the kings of the earth were against YAHWEH Elohim and HIS Anointed.
Psa. 2 (I) Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? (2) The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against YAHWEH, and against HIS Anointed [Messiah], saying, (3) Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. (4) HE that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: my Sovereign [YAHWEH] shall have them in derision. (5) Then shall HE speak unto them in HIS wrath, and vex them in HIS sore displeasure.
The Anointed One that is referred to in this psalm is the Mashiach! In verses six through nine, YAHWEH calls Him MY King and MY Son.
Psa. 2 (6) Yet have I set MY King upon MY holy hill of Zion. (7) I will declare the decree: YAHWEH hath said unto Me, Thou art MY Son; this day have I begotten Thee. (8) Ask of ME, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. (9)Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
As stated, YAHWEH charges the kings and Judges of the earth concerning HIS Anointed. In verses ten through twelve, HE advises them to serve YAHWEH, be joined to the Son, and put their trust in Him.
Psa. 2 (10) Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. (11) Serve YAHWEH with fear, and rejoice with trembling. (12) Kiss [join to] the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.
The Mashiach was to come out of the tribe of Judah and come from Bethlehem.
Gen. 49 (10) The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a Torah-giver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto Him shall the gathering of the people be. (11) Binding His foal unto the vine, and His ass's colt unto the choice vine; He washed His garments in wine, and His clothes in the blood of grapes: (12) His eyes shall be red with wine, and His teeth white with milk.
Micah 5 (2) But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto ME that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
When YAHshua was about thirty years old, He attended a synagogue service in His home town of Nazareth, Galilee. He had the honor of the reading of and the expounding of the Haphtarah, also called Haftarah, a reading selected from the prophets following the reading from the Torah. He read from the book of the prophet Isaiah. He opened it and read the following portion of scripture.
Isa. 61 (I) The Spirit of My Sovereign YAHWEH is upon Me; because YAHWEH hath anointed Me to preach good tidings unto the meek; HE hath sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; (2) To proclaim the acceptable year of YAHWEH, and the day of vengeance of our Elohim; to comfort all that mourn;
After YAHshua sat down, He told the people that He was fulfilling the scripture that He had just read. Some people insist that Isaiah was only speaking of himself in this scripture while others say that he was also speaking of the Mashiach. Regardless, whether Isaiah was speaking of himself, the Mashiach, or both, YAHshua was asserting that He had the same Spirit of YAHWEH on Himself. Also, He was saying that He was to do the same things that were spoken of by Isaiah in that portion of scripture. He went over all of Galilee and Judaea preaching the good tidings of the Kingdom of YAHWEH. He taught that YAHWEH required both good works and obedience to YAHWEH'S law. He healed all the people who were blind, deaf, crippled and sick with diseases. Also, He raised a few people from the dead.
The good tidings that YAHshua was preaching were that salvation and the Kingdom of YAHWEH were being made available to them. What He meant by being made available to them is that He would die for their transgressions to pay the penalty of death for them. This would be the first step necessary for the redemption of the entire human race. The next step would be for them to repent of their sins, accept His death as the atonement for their sins and receive YAHWEH'S Spirit. It was then necessary for them to live by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of YAHWEH the rest of their natural lives. At the time of the resurrection they will be re-created with an unlimited amount of the characteristics of YAHWEH that transcend all the laws of nature. They will also be re-created with a supernatural body that will live forever. From the beginning, this was the main purpose that YAHWEH had in mind when HE promised a Mashiach. This was the purpose for the Mashiach before there was a throne of David for Him to sit on or an Israel for Him to rule over. Israel seemed to have been overlooking that very important function of the Mashiach.
To fully understand the message that those Jewish writers were trying to convey, one must realize that they believed that the Levitical Priesthood's ceremonies and sacrifices portrayed the death of the Mashiach. They also believed that YAHWEH'S annual Holy Days portrayed the appointed times for the different activities of the Mashiach. Also, one should observe that YAHWEH'S assembling HIS people together on HIS annual Holy Days coincided with the two agricultural harvests. The first three annual Holy Days coincided with the early or first harvest and the last four with the late harvest.
Many people claim that YAHshua was only a prophet while others proclaim that He is YAHshua Ha Mashiach (the Messiah or the Anointed One). YAHshua had many disciples, but He picked twelve to whom He gave special training. He commissioned them as His emissaries (apostles). Most of those twelve emissaries eventually died a death of martyrdom because of their beliefs and testimony of all these things concerning YAHshua. When YAHshua discussed His claim of being the Mashiach with His emissaries, He told them that He would be rejected by the elders, the rulers, and other religious leaders of the people. He also said that He would be put to death to fulfill the things written in the books of the prophets, in the book of Psalms, and in the Torah concerning Himself. He was referring to the prophecies concerning the Mashiach. Below are some of those prophecies with the explanations how they seemed to apply to YAHshua. For instance, He rode on a colt, the foal of an ass, into the city of Jerusalem a few days before they crucified Him. He did this to show His humbleness. The last part of the first scripture is referring to the blood He shed during His crucifixion.
Gen. 49 (10) The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a Torah-giver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto Him shall the gathering of the people be. (11) Binding His foal unto the vine, and His ass's colt unto the choice vine; He washed His garments in wine, and His clothes in the blood of grapes:
Zec. 9:9: Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
According to those Jewish writers who claim to be eye witnesses concerning these things, YAHshua was tried in an illegal trial with false charges against Him. He was unjustly put to death because He was innocent of those charges. This is also referred to concerning the Mashiach in the book of Psalms. Contrary to the belief of many people, the second scripture did not concern David. He was speaking under the inspiration of YAHWEH concerning the Mashiach.
Psa. 2:2-3: The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against YAHWEH, and against HIS Anointed, saying, let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
Psa. 35:11: False witnesses did rise up; they laid to My charge things that I knew not.
YAHshua was put to death as was prophesied by the prophet Isaiah concerning the Mashiach. The Mashiach was to be smitten of YAHWEH, bruised, and cut off for the transgressions of YAHWEH'S people. (Smitten or stricken of YAHWEH is an eastern idiom meaning that one is severely oppressed or afflicted.) This was because of the serpent's seed (the unrighteous spiritual remnants of Babylon with the continuing adverse and sinful desires in the human race) that caused the need for YAHWEH to bruise (sacrifice) the Mashiach (the heel of the woman's seed).
Isa. 53 (4) Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of [YAHWEH] Elohim, and afflicted. (5) But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. … (8) He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of MY people was He stricken.
YAHWEH was to lay HIS people's iniquity upon the Mashiach.
Isa. 53 (6) All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and YAHWEH hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all. … (11) HE shall see of the travail of His soul [life], and shall be satisfied: by His knowledge shall MY righteous Servant justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities.
YAHshua had said that He would be put to death to fulfill the things written in the Torah concerning Himself. He was referring to the laws of ceremonies and sacrifices which only ceremonially and temporarily cleansed Israel by the death of the innocent sacrifice that Israel provided. The death of the innocent sacrifice portrayed the true cleansing by the sacrifice that YAHWEH would provide. This symbolic portrayal is in complete agreement with the prophecies just quoted from Isaiah chapter 53. This portrayal especially agrees with the parts concerning the "One" Who was to be cut off for His people's transgressions.
In the next scripture is the key to the purpose of the Mashiach dying. YAHWEH MAKES THE MASHIACH’S SOUL (LIFE) AN OFFERING FOR SIN. This purpose is the very thing that the whole system of ceremonies and sacrifices symbolically represented. Those ceremonies and sacrifices portrayed YAHWEH MAKING HIS OWN SON AN OFFERING FOR SIN! The sin that He became an offering for was the transgressions and iniquities of the human race. Again this was the serpent's seed (the unrighteous spiritual remnants of Babylon with the continuing adverse desires in the human race) making it necessary for YAHWEH to bruise (sacrifice) the heel (the Mashiach) of the woman's seed.
Isa. 53 (10) Yet it pleased YAHWEH to bruise Him; HE hath put Him to grief: when THOU shalt make His soul [life] an offering for sin, HE shall see HIS seed, HE shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of YAHWEH shall prosper in His hand. ... (12) Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He hath poured out His soul [life] unto death: and He was numbered with the transgressors; and He bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
YAHshua was put to death on the day of preparation for the Passover at about the same time the passover lamb was slain in the temple area by the high priest. YAHshua's death was the fulfillment of the event that the passover sacrifice portrayed. When the first passover sacrifice was made in Egypt, YAHWEH used the shedding of the innocent lamb's blood to temporarily save the firstborn of the Israelites from death. Also the death of the innocent lamb portrayed the innocent Mashiach having to shed His blood to save YAHWEH'S people Israel, as well as the entire human race, from the sentence of eternal death. If the Mashiach did not pay for their sins, they would be out of the presence of YAHWEH forever! The human race would live out their natural lives and die. YAHWEH has much better plans for the human race than that!
To understand this next portion, one needs to be reminded that YAHWEH'S annual Holy Days also portray the appointed times for the different activities of the Mashiach. One should also be reminded that there are two harvests, the early harvest and the late harvest.
As a seed must be planted in the earth before it can be harvested, YAHshua was impaled and planted in the tomb on the day the sacrifice was prepared for the Passover. YAHshua had previously told His emissaries that He would be in the grave three days and three nights and that He would rise from the dead on the third day. He rose from the dead three days and three nights after His death and burial. He rose from the dead in the end of the weekly Sabbath during the Days of Unleavened Bread. The very next day, the day the sheaf of the firstfruits was waved before YAHWEH by the priest, YAHshua ascended to heaven; thus, becoming the first of the firstfruits of the resurrection from the dead to be eternally accepted in the presence of YAHWEH. In doing this, He fulfilled the event that the waving of the sheaf of the firstfruits portrayed. He was the FIRST of the FIRSTFRUITS in the first harvest (resurrection from the dead) into the Kingdom of YAHWEH. The rest of the firstfruits of the first harvest will also be resurrected at His return from Heaven. YAHWEH intended for HIS people Israel to be the firstfruits in the early harvest as well as to be a light unto the Gentiles. HE gave them the first chance by choosing them to be HIS people and gave them HIS sign (HIS Sabbath) between them and HIMSELF. Also, HE gave them HIS laws and sent them HIS prophets to speak the Word of YAHWEH to them. Most importantly, HE sent the Mashiach to them first! YAHWEH wanted a righteous, obedient and holy people to be the firstfruits in the early harvest. Because of their disobedience to YAHWEH, Israel was still under the rule of the Romans at that time. Most of Israel was still being led astray by their corrupted prophets, elders, priests and other leaders. They provoked most of the Israelites into rejecting YAHshua and had Him put to death by the Roman soldiers. Israel rejected the Mashiach. In response, YAHWEH temporarily withheld the New Covenant that was to be inaugurated through YAHshua from them. (YAHWEH inaugurated the old covenant through Moses to Israel.) YAHWEH used the Mashiach YAHshua to assemble a Assembly with the righteous remnant of Israel that accepted Him as the atonement for their sin. He gave them the New Covenant. (Later, YAHWEH gave it to the Gentiles that truly accepted YAHshua as the atonement for their sin. YAHWEH chose not only Israel, but everyone who would call upon the name of YAHWEH to be HIS chosen people.) Only that righteous remnant of Israel that recognized that YAHshua was the Mashiach received the New Covenant at that particular time. Nevertheless, YAHWEH HAS NOT CAST AWAY HIS PEOPLE ISRAEL! Using the analogy of YAHWEH'S people as being a natural olive tree and the Gentiles as wild olives, SOME, NOT ALL, of the natural branches (Israelites that can and will be grafted back on) were pruned off while only SOME of the wild branches (Gentiles) were grafted on. The Gentiles did not replace the whole tree as some of them seem to erroneously think!
For the first few years the New Covenant Assembly was composed of only Israelites. YAHWEH used them to be a light unto the Gentiles. As prophesied in the scriptures, YAHWEH will make the whole nation of Israel a holy nation that will be a light unto the Gentiles in the future. YAHshua will come back and sit on the throne of David and prepare them and the Gentile nations for the late harvest. Israel as a nation will then be under the New Covenant and their sins will be remembered no more. Then they will be the light that YAHWEH desired for them to be unto the Gentile nations.
After His ascension, YAHshua came back and was in and out among His disciples for the next forty days. During those forty days, He was seen by more than five hundred brethren at one time. He used this righteous remnant of Israel as a nucleus for His Assembly. Later, YAHWEH added to it the Gentile converts.
This Assembly had its first big growth on the third annual Holy Day. That day is called the Feast of Weeks of the Firstfruits of the Wheat Harvest in Exodus 34. It was called the Day o Pentecost in the writings of those Jewish writers.
Below is a speech given by Kefa (Peter), one of YAHshua's twelve emissaries. The setting was in the temple area on the Feast of Weeks. The Spirit of YAHWEH, also called the Holy Spirit, had been poured out upon the people and the YAHWEH-given gift of speaking in different languages was given to YAHshua's twelve emissaries.
It is also very important that one keep in mind that the Spirit of YAHWEH is HIS seven basic characteristics, attributes, or HIS very essence. {YAHWEH'S essence is the intrinsic (essential nature) or indispensable properties that serve to characterize or identify HIM. HIS essence (characteristics or attributes) is surely sevenfold.} Those basic seven (YAHWEH'S number denoting completeness) characteristics or attributes are: HIS Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Might, Knowledge, Reverence, and HIS Righteousness. One should remember that one having these supernatural characteristics can do things that transcend the laws of nature. When YAHWEH gives one a portion of one or more of these characteristics one can only use them under the inspiration of YAHWEH.
Also, keep in mind that during their six or seven hundred years of captivity, the children of Israel were scattered all over the world. Their offspring, as the results, spoke primarily in the tongues of the land where they lived, instead of in their native Hebrew tongue.
YAHshua's twelve emissaries miraculously spoke all the different languages that were being spoken by the Jewish people who had come from all parts of the world for the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost). The emissaries spoke to them about the wonderful works of YAHWEH. Some of the wonderful works of YAHWEH that they spoke about included the fulfillment of prophecies that YAHWEH accomplished through YAHshua. These included all the many miracles YAHshua performed, His death for the sins of His people, His resurrection from the dead, and His ascension to Heaven.
Some scoffers accused YAHshua's emissaries of being drunk because they did not believe the things that the emissaries were telling them. The scoffers were mockingly implying that the emissaries had impairment of their mental faculties like men that were drunk. The emissaries were not so full of power that they were staggering and stumbling around like drunk men as some people teach. Here is Kefa's (Peter) response to the scoffers and his message to the devout Jews who were amazed at what they were hearing.
…….
Acts 2 (14) But Kefa [Peter], standing up with the eleven [Emissaries], lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: (15) For these [Emissaries] are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. (16) But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; (17) And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith YAHWEH, I will pour out of MY Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: (18) And on MY servants and on MY handmaidens I will pour out in those days of MY Spirit; and they shall prophesy: (19) And I will show wonders in Heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: (20) The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of YAHWEH come: (21) And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of YAHWEH shall be saved. [Joel 2:28-32]
(22) Ye men of Israel, hear these words; YAHshua of Nazareth, a Man approved of YAHWEH among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which YAHWEH did by Him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: (23) Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of YAHWEH, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: (24) Whom YAHWEH hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that He should be holden of it. (25) For David speaketh concerning Him, I foresaw the Sovereign always before my face, for He is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: (26) Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: (27) Because THOU wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt THOU suffer THINE Holy One to see corruption. (28) THOU hast made known to me the ways of life; THOU shalt make me full of joy with THY countenance [Psa. 16:8-11].
(29) Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us unto this day. (30) Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that YAHWEH had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, HE would raise up Messiah to sit on his throne; (31) He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Messiah, that His soul was not left in hell [grave], neither His flesh did see corruption. (32) This YAHshua hath YAHWEH raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. (33) Therefore being by the right hand of YAHWEH exalted, and having received of the FATHER the promise of the Holy Spirit, He hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. (34) For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, YAHWEH said unto my Sovereign, Sit Thou on MY right hand, (35) Until I make Thy foes Thy footstool. [Psa 110:1] (36) Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that YAHWEH hath made that same YAHshua, Whom ye have crucified, both Sovereign and Messiah.
(37) Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the Apostles [Emissaries], Men and brethren, what shall we do? (38) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of YAHshua Messiah for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (39) For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as YAHWEH our Elohim shall call. …….
In the above speech, Kefa said, "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that YAHWEH hath made that same YAHshua, Whom ye have crucified, both Sovereign and Mashiach." The majority of Israel, including their corrupted prophets, elders, priests and other leaders, neither fully obeyed nor understood the ONE YAHWEH and HIS plan for the human race. Therefore, they considered calling YAHshua "Sovereign" and "Son of YAHWEH" blasphemy. Was calling the Mashiach "Sovereign" contrary to the true monotheistic {belief in one YAHWEH} religion of Israel? Please investigate this with an open mind.
David calls the Mashiach "Sovereign" in Psalm 110. This is the Psalm containing YAHWEH'S oath that the Mashiach would be priest, for ever, after the order of Melchizedek.
Psa. 110:1-4: YAHWEH said unto my Sovereign, sit Thou at MY right hand, until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool. YAHWEH shall send the rod of Thy strength out of Zion: rule Thou in the midst of Thine enemies. Thy people shall be willing in the day of Thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: Thou hast the dew of Thy youth. YAHWEH hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
Speaking of the Messiah in the above scripture, David said, "YAHWEH said unto my Sovereign.." Sovereign was speaking of the Mashiach. It was translated from the Hebrew word "Adown" that means sovereign or controller. (See Strong's.)
113. 'adown, aw-done', or (shortened) 'adon, aw-done'; from an unused root (mean to rule); SOVEREIGN, i.e. controller (human or divine):--lord, master, owner. Compare also names beginning with "Adoni-."
In Kefa's speech, which has been translated from the Greek, he said, "YAHWEH hath made that same YAHshua both Sovereign and Mashiach." The Greek word "Kurios" used here means as follows: (Strong's.)
2962. Kurios, koo'-ree-os; from kuros (supremacy); SUPREME IN AUTHORITY, i.e. (as noun) controller; by implication Mr. (as a respectful title):--God, Lord, master, Sir.
According to the above definitions, the Mashiach was to be "Sovereign" or "supreme in authority." The Mashiach was prophesied to die for His peoples' sins. He was prophesied to establish His government on the throne of David with a never ending peace. He was also prophesied to be priest, forever, after the order of Melchizedek. Could He possibly fulfill the two latter prophecies if He was not resurrected from the dead? Can one believe that YAHWEH resurrected Mashiach with a supernatural body like HIS own and still believe that there is only ONE YAHWEH? Consider this.
From the beginning, YAHWEH wanted the human race to ultimately become a part of HIS glorious family and a part of HIMSELF. HE wanted them to be ONE with HIM in HIS Eternal Kingdom. HE wanted them to be one with HIM and be part of HIS glorious family by their own choice. That is one of the reasons that YAHWEH created them in HIS image and giving them a very small and limited portion of HIS Spirit. (HIS Spirit is HIS seven basic characteristics or attributes.) This was enough of HIS Spirit for the human race to choose to be one with YAHWEH. However, as demonstrated in the garden of Eden, the human race chose to think their own thoughts and go their own ways. Their ways lead to death; YAHWEH'S ways lead to eternal life! YAHWEH had already designed a very ingenious plan that gives them an opportunity to become one with HIM. This ingenious plan is being achieved through YAHshua Ha Mashiach!
YAHWEH with HIS infinite Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Might, Knowledge, Reverence and Righteousness planted an embryo of a male child composed of a small portion of HIMSELF (HIS Shekhinah or Glory) in the womb of a young virgin woman. That small portion of the ONE YAHWEH was divested of most, if not all, of its original supernatural powers. The male Child was then given birth as any other child would be born. He was a small portion of YAHWEH in human flesh! This was the promised Mashiach! He came to reveal to YAHWEH'S people the message of salvation for the entire human race. He was given more of YAHWEH'S Spirit than YAHWEH had given to any other human being. He led a sinless life. His thoughts were YAHWEH'S thoughts and His ways were YAHWEH'S ways. Therefore, as a small portion of YAHWEH manifested in the flesh, He could die for the sins of the human race. YAHWEH loved the human race enough that HE gave a small portion of HIMSELF, created in human flesh as HIS Son, for an offering for their sin! YAHWEH did this because YAHWEH (Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob), IS the Holy One, the Savior, the Creator, the King and the Redeemer of HIS people!
Isa. 43 (3) For I am YAHWEH thy Elohim, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. ... (15) I am YAHWEH, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.
Isa. 44 (6) Thus saith YAHWEH the King of Israel, and his redeemer YAHWEH of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside ME there is no Elohim.
YAHshua, a small portion of YAHWEH in the flesh, began fulfilling the prophecies in the following scriptures. He will completely fulfill them when He returns.
Zec. 9 (9) Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and on a colt the foal of an ass.
Isa. 40 (9) O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your Elohim! (10) Behold, my Sovereign YAHWEH will come with strong hand, and HIS Arm [Messiah] shall rule for HIM: behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him. (11) He shall feed His flock like a shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
Isa. 59: (20) And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith YAHWEH. (21) As for ME, this is MY Covenant with them, saith YAHWEH; MY spirit that is upon thee, and MY words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith YAHWEH, from henceforth and for ever.
YAHshua is not another YAHWEH. He was only a small portion of the ONE YAHWEH that was manifested in the flesh of a normal human being. After YAHshua's resurrection, YAHWEH restored that portion of HIMSELF back to the created portion of HIS OWN supernatural body. HE re-created or refashioned YAHshua's earthly body as a completely supernatural body. That portion of HIMSELF again had the full powers and authority of the ONE YAHWEH! Therefore, Kefa said that YAHWEH hath made YAHshua both "Sovereign" and "Mashiach." YAHWEH is dealing with the human race through that fully supernatural portion of HIMSELF, which is the Sovereign YAHshua Ha Mashiach, until YAHWEH makes YAHshua's enemies His footstool. This is in fulfillment of Psalm 110. This portion of Psalm 110 deserves to be quoted again.
Psa. 110 (I) A Psalm of David. YAHWEH said unto my Sovereign, Sit Thou at MY right hand, until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool. (2) YAHWEH shall send the rod of Thy strength out of Zion: rule Thou in the midst of Thine enemies. (3) Thy people shall be willing in the day of Thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: Thou hast the dew of Thy youth. (4) YAHWEH hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
YAHshua, the first of the firstfruits, is the first human being in a resurrection from the dead to be born into the family of YAHWEH. Many more will be given a glorious body like unto His at the end of the first harvest, which is the resurrection of the dead. They will be re-created or refashioned with a portion of YAHWEH'S Shekhinah or Glory. They will also be part of the glorious family of YAHWEH! They will be one with the ONE YAHWEH, as YAHshua is one with HIM. This will also apply to those in the second harvest that begins at the second coming of YAHshua Ha Mashiach. When the second harvest is completed, all the wicked and death itself will be destroyed. YAHWEH will have completed HIS ultimate purpose for creating the human race. HE will have successfully reproduced HIMSELF! He will have a Holy, Righteous, Glorious Family that willingly desires to be one with HIM!
Now, one should notice the similarity of YAHWEH'S plan to reproduce the human race and HIS plan to reproduce HIMSELF. The woman was formed from a portion (rib) of the man. The wife was to be one with her husband.
Gen. 2 (20) And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found help meet for him. (21) And YAHWEH Elohim caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and HE took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; (22) And the rib, which YAHWEH Elohim had taken from man, made HE a woman, and brought her unto the man. (23) And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. (24) Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
YAHshua was formed from a portion of YAHWEH as the woman was formed from a portion of the man. YAHWEH and YAHshua are also ONE in the same way as a man and his wife are one. The creation of woman from a portion of man (a rib) was to bring forth children into the earthly human family. The creation of the Mashiach from a portion of YAHWEH (HIS Shekhinah or Glory) was to bring forth children into the glorious family of YAHWEH!
What does one do to come to YAHWEH through the Mashiach? This is found in the conclusion of Kefa's speech. He told them to repent and be baptized in the name (which includes His authority) of YAHshua and they would receive YAHWEH'S Spirit as a gift. YAHWEH'S Spirit is free! To receive it, one should first repent of his or her past sins and accept YAHshua as being the true sacrifice to pay for one's past transgressions. To repent means for one to have remorse of his or her own adverse ways and return to YAHWEH'S ways. One should then be baptized in water as an outward confession that he is symbolically being buried with YAHshua the Messiah in death. As one comes up out of the water he is to start a new way of life with a good portion of YAHWEH'S Spirit given to him to guide him. In the new way of life of returning to YAHWEH'S ways, one must do as YAHshua did. He must let YAHWEH'S thoughts be his thoughts and YAHWEH'S ways be his ways. He is then a member of the Torah abiding Assembly that YAHWEH began building through YAHshua. He should continue in good works while giving praise and glory to YAHWEH. Then at the resurrection, one will be re-created or refashioned with a supernatural body that will live forever as part of YAHWEH'S glorious family in the Kingdom of YAHWEH!
When YAHshua returns, He will be the most magnificent display of YAHWEH'S Glory or Shekhinah (HIS glorious presence) that the human race has ever seen! At that time, neither the practice of Judaism in its present day form nor Christianity in its present day form will be practiced! Both Judaism in its present day form and Christianity in its present day form contain religious traditions that originated in the Babylonian mystery religion straight from ancient Babylon. Those religious customs and traditions that are rooted in the Babylonian mystery religion of ancient Babylon have had their names and meanings changed. They have then been added to the guidelines of worship that YAHWEH gave HIS people and those customs and practices are an abomination to HIM! This was expressed both in the Torah and through the prophets. YAHWEH makes that command very clear.
Deu. 4 (I) Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which YAHWEH Elohim of your fathers giveth you. (2) Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of YAHWEH your Elohim which I command you.
Deu. 12 (29) When YAHWEH thy Elohim shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land; (30) Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their elohim, saying, How did these nations serve their elohim? Even so will I do likewise. (31) Thou shalt not do so unto YAHWEH thy Elohim for every abomination to YAHWEH, which HE hateth, have they done unto their elohim; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their elohim. (32) What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
YAHWEH also spoke through the prophet Jeremiah concerning the ways and the customs of the heathen. This did not only concern carved idols, but it also concerned all the religious customs and ways of the heathen. The heathen's religious customs and traditions originated from the ancient City and Kingdom of Babylon during the time of Nimrod and shortly after his death.
Jer. 10 (I) Hear ye the word which YAHWEH speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: (2) Thus saith YAHWEH, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. (3) For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. (4) They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. (5) They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
The last sentence in the above quotation does not mean that there is neither harm or nor good in having them. It means that the pagan's wooden idols have no life, and they have no physical power of their own to do good or to physically do harm to anyone. (The description of the wooden idol that Jeremiah was describing is also a perfect description of modern day "Christianity's" Christmas tree. The "christianized" Christmas tree that has been adopted from the pagan custom of using evergreens in their idolatrous winter solstice season is just as lifeless and it is just as abominable to YAHWEH as the pagan's wooden idol!)
According to the laws and instructions that YAHWEH gave HIS people through HIS prophets and in the Torah, HE does not want to be worshipped by mixing HIS Holy Days, HIS customs, and HIS laws for living a holy life with tradition and customs of the heathen! HE most certainly does not want HIS Holy Sabbath, HIS Holy Days, and HIS Holy Laws replaced with heathen days, heathen customs, and heathen teachings from ancient Babylon that have been given new religious sounding names and meanings! YAHshua will permit only the true and unadulterated worship of YAHWEH.
It will be through YAHshua that YAHWEH will fulfill the following scriptures while completing HIS plan of redemption.
Psa. 104 (31) The glory [Shekhinah or divine presence] of YAHWEH shall endure for ever: YAHWEH shall rejoice in his works.
Numbers 14 (21) But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of YAHWEH.
Isa. 40 (5) And the glory of YAHWEH shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of YAHWEH hath spoken it.
Habakkuk 2 (14) For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of YAHWEH, as the waters cover the sea.
When YAHWEH'S plan of
redemption is completed through YAHshua, all
humans that have been redeemed will be a member of YAHWEH'S
glorious family. They will have a tangible, indestructible, supernatural body.
They will be re-created from a portion of YAHWEH'S
Shekhinah or HIS Glory, as was YAHshua,
instead of from the dust of the earth! YAHWEH
will have accomplished the reproducing of HIMSELF with children who willingly
have the same thoughts and ways as HE does. Praise the holy name of YAHWEH!
(For anyone who desires to search into when, where, why and by whom the
laws, customs and teachings of YAHWEH were
replaced and/or mixed by many heathen customs and teachings, I have written
another very controversial book named From YAHWEH'S
Appointed Days and Customs to "Christianity’s" Appointed Days and
Customs. This book will make many people who have more love for the laws,
customs and traditions of men than they do for the truth very very angry!)
