Did YAHshua pre-exist?
It is very helpful to understand Who our Sovereign and Saviour YAHshua the Messiah really is. Therefore, the Apostle Peter gave the following advice to the Brethren.
II Peter 3 (18) But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Sovereign and Saviour YAHshua Messiah. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
It seems that it would be appropriate and logical to start in the beginning of the history of our Sovereign and Saviour YAHshua the Messiah.
John 1 (I) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with YAHWEH, and the Word was Elohim. (2) The same was in the beginning with YAHWEH.
In the next few verses, it is stated that the WORD made everything that was made.
John 1 (3) All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. (4) In Him was life; and the life was the Light of men. (5) And the Light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
In the next few scriptures, the Word is being called the Light and that the world was made through Him. (The "Light" is a key to another study that I made on the "Shekhinah" that confirms this one!)
John 1 (6) There was a man sent from YAHWEH, whose name was John. (7) The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through Him might believe. (8) He [John] was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. (9) That was the true Light [also the Word], which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. (10) He [the Light, the Word] was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. (11) He [the Light, the Word] came unto His Own, and His Own received Him not. (12) But as many as received Him [the Light, the Word], to them gave He power to become the sons of YAHWEH, even to them that believe on His [the Light, the Word] name: (13) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of YAHWEH.
John tells us that the WORD (the LIGHT) became flesh and dwelt among us and it was through Him that grace and truth came to us.
John 1 (14) And the Word [also the Light] was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the FATHER,) full of grace and truth. (15) John bare witness of Him, and cried, saying, This was He of Whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for He was before me. (16) And of His fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. (17) For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by YAHshua Messiah.
From the above scriptures, six things should be abundantly clear.
# 1: YAHshua, the Messiah, was the WORD.
# 2: YAHshua, the Messiah, was Elohim.
# 3: YAHshua, the Messiah, was in the beginning with YAHWEH.
# 4: YAHshua, the Messiah, was the LIGHT.
# 5: YAHshua, the Messiah, was made flesh and dwelt among us.
# 6: YAHshua, the Messiah, made all things.
At this time, six things in particular will be mentioned that are found in Colossians 1:12-18.
# 1: YAHshua, the Messiah, is YAHWEH'S Son.
# 2: YAHshua, the Messiah, Created all things.
# 3: YAHshua, the Messiah, is the Firstborn of all creation.
# 4: YAHshua, the Messiah, is the image of the invisible YAHWEH.
# 5 YAHshua, the Messiah, was our Redeemer.
# 6 YAHshua, the Messiah, is the Firstborn from the dead (to eternal life)
Colossians 1 (12) Giving thanks unto the FATHER, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: (13) WHO hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of HIS dear Son: (14) In Whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: (15) Who is the image of the invisible YAHWEH, the Firstborn of every creature: (16) For by Him were all things created, that are in Heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: (17) And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. (18) And He is the Head of the body, the Assembly: Who is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence.
Five things in particular will be mentioned here that are found in Hebrews 1:1-14.
# 1: YAHshua, the Messiah, made the worlds, the foundations of the earth, and the heavens.
# 2: YAHshua, the Messiah, is called YAHWEH'S Son.
# 3: YAHshua, the Messiah, is called the effulgence (brilliant radiance) of YAHWEH'S glory.
# 4: YAHshua, the Messiah, is called the image of YAHWEH'S substance.
# 5: YAHshua, the Messiah, is called Elohim.
Hebrews 1 (I) YAHWEH, WHO at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, (2) Hath in these last days spoken unto us by HIS Son, Whom HE hath appointed heir of all things, by Whom also HE made the worlds; (3) Who being the brightness of HIS glory, and the express image of HIS person, and upholding all things by the word of HIS power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high [Psa. 110:1]; (4) Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. (5) For unto which of the angels said HE at any time, Thou art MY Son, this day have I begotten Thee [Psa 2:7]? And again, I will be to Him a FATHER, and He shall be to ME a Son [II Sam. 7:14; I Chron. 17:13; Psa 89:26-27]? (6) And again, when HE bringeth in the Firstbegotten into the world, HE saith, And let all the angels of YAHWEH worship Him [Psa 104:4]. (7) And of the angels HE saith, WHO maketh HIS angels spirits, and HIS ministers a flame of fire. [Psa. 104:4] (8) But unto the Son HE saith, Thy throne, O Elohim, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of Thy kingdom. (9) Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore YAHWEH, even Thy Elohim, hath anointed Thee with the oil of gladness above Thy fellows [Psa 45:6-7]. (10) And, Thou, Sovereign, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of Thine hands: (11) They shall perish; but Thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; (12) And as a vesture shalt Thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but Thou art the same, and Thy years shall not fail [Psa 102:25-27]. (13) But to which of the angels said HE at any time, Sit on MY right hand, until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool [Psa 110:1]? (14) Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
The facts underlined in all the above scriptures about YAHshua the Messiah all came from only three scriptures (John 1:1-17, Colossians 1:12-18 and Hebrews 1:1-14). View them all together in the list below.
# 1: YAHshua, the Messiah, was in the beginning with YAHWEH.
# 2: YAHshua, the Messiah, was Elohim.
# 3: YAHshua, the Messiah, was made flesh and dwelt among us.
# 4: YAHshua, the Messiah, was the Maker or Creator of all things.
# 5: YAHshua, the Messiah, was called the WORD.
# 6: YAHshua, the Messiah, was called the LIGHT.
# 7: YAHshua, the Messiah, was called the Firstborn of all creation.
# 8: YAHshua, the Messiah, was called YAHWEH'S Son.
# 9: YAHshua, the Messiah, was called the Image of the invisible YAHWEH.
#10: YAHshua, the Messiah, was called the effulgence (brilliant radiance) of YAHWEH'S glory.
#11: YAHshua, the Messiah, was called the image of YAHWEH'S substance.
#12: YAHshua, the Messiah, was called the Redeemer.
#13: YAHshua, the Messiah, is called Elohim.
#14 YAHshua, the Messiah, is the Firstborn from the dead (to eternal life).
What was the One doing that was in the beginning with YAHWEH and was called the Word, Elohim, the LIGHT, the Firstborn of all creation, the Firstborn from the dead (to eternal life), the Maker and Creator of all things, YAHWEH'S Son, the Effulgence (brilliant radiance) of YAHWEH'S glory, the Image of YAHWEH'S substance, and the Image of the invisible YAHWEH BEFORE He was made flesh and dwelt among us and became the redeemer of the human race from their sins? He was existing or pre-existing as a form of Elohim!
Philippians 2 (5) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Messiah YAHshua: (6) Who, being in the form of YAHWEH, thought it not robbery to be equal with YAHWEH: (7) But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: (8) And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (9) Wherefore YAHWEH also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: (10) That at the name of YAHshua every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (11) And that every tongue should confess that YAHshua Messiah is Sovereign, to the glory of YAHWEH the FATHER.

Hebrews 1 (I) YAHWEH, WHO at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, (2) Hath in these last days spoken unto us by HIS Son, Whom HE hath appointed heir of all things, by Whom also HE made the worlds;
How did YAHWEH speak to the fathers of old time? As you read these next verses, keep in mind the fact that YAHshua the Messiah existed (or pre-existed) as the form of Elohim (Elohim is incorrectly translated as "GOD" and YAHWEH is translated as "the LORD" in the K J V of the of the Old Testament).
Numbers 12 (6) And he said, Hear now MY words: If there be a prophet among you, I YAHWEH will make MYSELF known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. (7) MY servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all MINE house. (8) With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the *similitude [embodiment] of YAHWEH shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against MY servant Moses?

Strongs H8544. temuwnah, tem-oo-naw'; or temunah, tem-oo-naw'; from H4327; something portioned (i.e. fashioned) out, as a shape, i.e. (indef.) phantom, or (specifically) embodiment, or (fig.) manifestation (of favor):--image, likeness, similitude.em·bod·y
(µm-b¼d"¶) tr.v. em·bod·ied, em·bod·y·ing, em·bod·ies. 1. To give a bodily form to; incarnate. 2. To represent in bodily or material form: "As John Adams embodied the old style, Andrew Jackson embodied the new" (Richard Hofstadter). 3. To make part of a system or whole; incorporate: laws that embody a people's values. The One Who was in the beginning with YAHWEH and was called the Word, Elohim, the LIGHT, the Firstborn of all creation, the Maker and Creator of all things, YAHWEH'S Son, the Effulgence (brilliant radiance) of YAHWEH'S glory, the Redeemer, the Image of YAHWEH'S substance, and the Image of the invisible YAHWEH and existed in the form of YAHWEH was the form that Moses beheld. That Elohim was none other Elohim than our Sovereign and Saviour YAHshua the Messiah!
That brings up the question: are there two Elohim, two YAHWEHS, two Kings of Israel, two Redeemers and two Saviours? NO!
Isaiah 43 :3: (3) For I am YAHWEH thy Elohim, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee..
Isaiah 44 (6) Thus saith YAHWEH the King of Israel, and his redeemer YAHWEH of hosts; I am the First, and I am the Last; and beside ME there is no Elohim.
Isaiah 45 (21) Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? Who hath told it from that time? Have not I YAHWEH? And there is no Elohim else beside ME; a just El and a Saviour; there is none beside ME. (22) Look unto ME, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am El, and there is none else.
Our Sovereign and Saviour YAHshua the Messiah was the One Who was in the beginning with YAHWEH and was called the Word, Elohim, the LIGHT, the Firstborn of all creation, the Maker and Creator of all things, YAHWEH'S Son, the Effulgence (brilliant radiance) of YAHWEH'S glory, the Redeemer, the image of YAHWEH'S substance, and the image of the invisible YAHWEH and existed in the form of YAHWEH was the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He was the only part of YAHWEH that was ever manifested to man.
Moses wanted to see more of YAHWEH than that. He wanted to see him in all his glory. He was unsuccessful as man cannot look upon any more of YAHWEH than HIS form that HE manifests to be seen, heard and sometimes touched through the natural senses given to the human race.
Exo. 33 (18) And he [Moses] said, I beseech thee, show me THY glory. (19) And HE [YAHWEH] said, I will make all MY goodness (also translates as beauty) pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of YAHWEH before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. (20) And HE said, Thou canst not see MY face: for there shall no man see ME, and live. (21) And YAHWEH said, Behold, there is a place by ME, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: (22) And it shall come to pass, while MY glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with MY hand, and thou shalt see MY back parts: but MY face shall not be seen.
In conclusion, YAHWEH always spoke and did everything through our Sovereign and Saviour YAHshua the Messiah Who existed in the form of YAHWEH for He was the Elohim that dealt with everything written in the Old Testament from the time of Adam and Eve until He was made flesh. He was only the Form or a Portion of YAHWEH that was made manifest to many people. (When we receive the full knowledge of YAHshua, we will probably find out that He is the created portion of YAHWEH, the very first thing that YAHWEH created, the FIRSTBORN of YAHWEH through which YAHWEH always has and always will communicate in person with mankind! YAHWEH continued to speak through Him after that he was manifested in the flesh as our Sovereign and Saviour YAHshua the Messiah. (Please read Hebrews 1:1-2 again. YAHshua confirms it in John 8:28 and John 8:38.)
Hebrews 1 (I) YAHWEH, WHO at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, (2) Hath in these last days spoken unto us by HIS Son, Whom HE hath appointed heir of all things, by Whom also HE made the worlds;
John 8 (28) Then said YAHshua unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My FATHER hath taught Me, I speak these things..
John 8 (38) I speak that which I have seen with My FATHER: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
Our Sovereign and Saviour YAHshua the Messiah was correct when He spoke the following three statements:
John 1 (18) No man hath seen YAHWEH at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the FATHER, He hath declared Him.
John 14 (9) YAHshua saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me, Philip? He that hath seen Me hath seen the FATHER; and how sayest thou then, Show us the FATHER?
John 10 (30) I and My FATHER are one.
