I met a brother at the feast
last year who had an excerpt from a science book that he had found in a public
school. Here is what the excerpt said:
IN THE BEGINNING, THERE WAS
NOTHING. It was a "nothing" so profound that it defies human
comprehension. Space did not exist. Time did not flow. There was no matter, no
radiation.
Then it all changed. From
nothing, a tiny speck of light appeared. It was almost infinitely hot—and
inside this fireball was the whole of space. With the creation of space came the
birth of time: 13.7 billion years ago, the great cosmic clock began to tick.
Ever since, our universe has been expanding.
There was no
"before" the big bang. No one knows why it happened except—that
it did. And the infant cosmos had another little trick up its sleeve. Like any
young creature, it had more energy than it knew what to do with. Fractions of a
second after forming, it embarked on a dramatic growth spurt. Had this
"cosmic inflation" not taken place, the universe might have collapsed
back on itself.
The energy in the primordial
fireball was so concentrated that matter spontaneously started to appear. At
this stage, atoms could not exist in the raging inferno. Instead, subatomic
particles like quarks and bosons seethed and crashed into one another
sometimes building up a stable relationship, sometimes not.
After three minutes, the
frenzied young universe had calmed down sufficiently to create the elements
hydrogen and helium. But it would be over 200 million years before the first
galaxies were born.
These came together from
humble beginnings. Clumps of stars—like our present-day globular
clusters—assembled themselves into bigger edifices. These galaxies started to
swarm together in groups and clusters, creating the architecture of the universe
as we know it today. (end of excerpt)
WOW! What a story! So this
is the science of evolution!!!!!
I want to ask the question,
What is science? What is the definition for science? Webster's
New World Dictionary defines science as 1. the state or fact of knowing; knowledge
2. systematized knowledge
derived from observation, study, and experimentation carried on in order to
determine the nature or principles of what is being studied
3. a branch of knowledge or
study, esp. one concerned with establishing and systematizing facts, principles,
and methods as by experiments and hypotheses.
4. a) the systematized knowledge
of nature and the physical world b) being any branch of this 5. skill or technique based upon
systematized training.
So we find that science,
supposedly, is knowledge obtained through observation, study, experimentation,
facts, principles, etc. Since science is knowledge, let’s utilize knowledge
(science) to see if we can determine if that little article, as well as
scientists (those who know, have knowledge) are following the guidelines of
knowledge (science).
Let's take a look into the
definition for "nothing." Once again we will go to Webster's
New World Dictionary for the definition. 1. a) no thing; not anything;
naught b) no part, element, trace,
etc. 2. a) nonexistence; nothingness
b) insignificance;
unimportance 3. a thing that does not exist .
Furthermore,
"nothingness" is defined as: 1. the quality or condition
of being nothing or not existing; nonexistence or extinction
2. lack of value, worth,
meaning, etc.; uselessness, emptiness, insignificance, etc.
3. unconsciousness or death
4. anything that is
nonexistent, worthless, insignificant, useless, etc.
By the way, let's also look
at Webster's definition of "profound." 1. very deep or low
2. marked by intellectual
depth 3. deeply or intensely felt
4. thoroughgoing
5. unbroken.
This" nothing"
that the little so-called scientific article presented at the beginning was a
"profound" (deep, or intense) "nothingness" (nonexistence,
worthlessness, uselessness). Nothingness is even a state of death. But this
deep, profound, nothingness, nonexistence suddenly sparked to life and began
creating! Is this not the most far out "profound" fairy tale ever
told?
Now, for scientists (those
who have knowledge through observation, study, and experimentation) to call
themselves such, is somewhat ridiculous because not one (that's no one; which
would be equivalent to nothing) was there to study, observe, and experiment with
the beginning of everything. All they can do is study, observe, and experiment
with what is already here. Therefore, their knowledge about the beginning is
nothing more than erroneous speculation.
Aren't we taught mathematic
knowledge (science) in school? What is nothing times nothing? Isn't it still
nothing? What is any number times naught, zero, or nothing, such as 5 x 0? Isn't
it still zero, naught, nothing? This is knowledge. This is science.
But to claim that something,
indeed the most awesome, marvelous, and mind-boggling creation came from nothing
is not science, is not knowledge, it is fantasy, fairy tales!
Let's notice some other
things. It says, "From nothing, a tiny speck of light appeared." How
can "nothing" bring forth
light, when there is NOTHING there to cause light in the first place? Light has
to have a source.
Okay, so let's look at this
definition for "source." 1. a spring, fountain, etc.
that is the starting point of a stream 2. that from which something comes into existence, develops, or derives.
3. a) any person, place, or
thing by which something is supplied b) a person, book, document,
etc. that provides information 4. the point or thing from which light rays, sound waves, etc. emanate.
This is all very interesting
to me. #2 says "that from which something comes into existence..."
Isn't there an old saying that goes like this; "You can't get something
from nothing."? #3 correctly states that a person, place, or thing has to
be the supplier of SOMETHING. NOTHING can't supply anything, because NOTHING has
NOTHING with which to begin SOMETHING.
Next, the article speaks
about the CREATION OF SPACE. So let's define "creation." 1. a creating or being created 2. the universe and everything in it; all the world
3. anything created; esp.,
something original created by the imagination; invention, design, etc.
To create something, one has
to be "creative" so let's define "creative." 1. creating or able to create 2. productive 3. having or showing imagination and artistic or intellectual inventiveness
4. stimulating the imagination and inventive powers.
Let's finish this series up
with the definition of the word "create" since a creation has to be
created, and whatever or whoever creates must be creative. 1. to cause to come into existence; bring into being; make; originate; esp.,
to make or design (something requiring art, skill, invention, etc.)
2. to bring about; give rise
to; cause 3. to invest with a new rank,
function, etc. 4. to be the first to portray.
NOTHING is nothing. NOTHING
can't be creative, can't have intellect, can't make or design or invent. NOTHING
can't bring about anything or something because it has NOTHING to do anything
with.
I have no doubt that the
universe as we know it today was created. What about you? If it was created,
then it had to have come from something or someone. NOTHING could never have
done it. Thus, we can't have creation without a CREATOR. The CREATOR was/is full
of the greatest power and intellect. He designed the whole creation because of
the greatness of His own imagination, and inventive intellect and prowess.
The point is that human
scientists may be the cream of the human crop and the most intelligent. But when
they try to sway us with their great swelling words, we must utilize knowledge,
science to try them to see how accurate they are because, as we all know, to err
is human!
There is a great Creator Who
proclaims that He is the One Who made all things. Creation demands a Creator.
NOTHING has no imagination, no ability to design, no ability to create. If a
scientist wants to be accurate, then let them cover the gamut of knowledge and
they will discover that we are here for a purpose and a reason. NOTHING can have
no purpose, nor reason.
Sometime ago I had a
discussion with an evolutionist. I am presenting our arguments below. It was
between myself, Jerry Healan, and one who hid himself behind a pen name of
Shadoe. Do you think he may have been afraid to expose his identity? I honestly
do not know who he is to this day. But we did have a go at each other.
CONVERSATION
WITH AN EVOLUTIONIST
FROM Shadoe: "Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge:
it is those who know little, not those who know much, who so positively assert
that this or that problem will never be solved by science." Charles Darwin.
Jerry
Healan wrote: Shadoe, The problem that we have is that
"Knowledge puffs up," 1 Cor. 8:1. Men who have a little more knowledge
than others feel superior to the others and eventually feel so superior that
they think that they can deny their great Creator and His creative powers.
Another man warned, "Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and
prudent in their own sight!" Isa. 5:21.
You have quoted a man whom
you love and trust in, but that man had no power to understand the whole
creation. No man understands it all. All men can do is seek to specialize in a
particular field, but even in their own fields, they do not understand all there
is concerning that one field that is their specialty. There are always mysteries
that they simply can't fathom and they will never figure out how it is all put
together or how everything works together in the whole creation.
If all men with all their
knowledge could get together, they still could never match the creative powers
and works of the Almighty Creator Yahweh.
Another problem is that
those who think that they know so much that they can deny their Creator may have
a lot of knowledge, but they lose all common sense.
Your hero, Charles Darwin,
is dead and in the grave. My Hero, Yahshua the Messiah, Who is the Word that
created all things, came down from His lofty abode, suffered and died, was
resurrected and now has power over the grave. He upholds everything by the power
of His Word (Heb. 1:1-4).
When you can find a man who
can match the creative powers of Yahweh and Yahshua, let me know. When you can
find a man who has power over the grave and death; When you can find a man who
has the power to resurrect all from their graves into life everlasting, please
let me know.
You can belittle faith, but
no matter who you are, you can never match the creation that exists by the
mighty hand of Yahweh, nor can you ever understand it. All you can do is brag
and boast about your little bit of knowledge which will eventually fail you and
you also will enter the grave.
It's too bad that you are so
smart and have so much knowledge that you can now deny the Very One Who brought
you into this awesome creation. The situation is that there is an even better
creation coming in the future, but if you continue to deny your Creator and
Elohim, you may possibly miss out on it.
But one thing about Him is
that He is merciful, even to braggarts like you. If and when He reveals and
bestows His mercy upon you, you will have a lot of crow to eat.
Jerry Healan
From a
third party: Wow...Perfect reply sir....God is awesome and when He in His
infinate wisdom sends someone along with a perfect reply like you gave
sir, it's awesome is the only word I can come up with...Praise God...
FROM Shadoe: Why do you believe that Evolution is a "lie"? And I mean by
that, how do you find it scientifically flawed?
From Jerry
Healan: BELIEVE? Come on, Shadoe. It is a lie and will never be proven.
From Shadoe: How do you reconcile the statement that evolution is a "lie"
with the fact that evolution has been observed?
From Jerry
Healan: It has never been observed. Man can't live long enough to observe it.
According to evolutionists, it takes millions and billions of years for
evolution to take place. The only one who could observe such a thing is someone
who has lived long enough to do so. There is only one being who has lived long
enough and he says that He Created it.
From Shadoe: Why do you feel that you are more qualified to judge what is good science
than thousands of accredited scientists that work in the field on a daily basis?
From Jerry
Healan: There are thousands of other "qualified scientists" who proclaim
that evolution is bogus. These are the ones who believed in evolution until they
came to understand that it is a lie. You should try listening to some of them.
You might learn the truth for a change.
FROM Shadoe: Why do you feel all public schools are "perverted"?
FROM Jerry
Healan: Have you been in one lately? Illicit sex, drugs, violence, erroneous
teachings, teachers seducing students and vice versa, homosexuality, etc., etc.
From Shadoe: Too many people try to Home school or, get their chidren in Christian
schools...LOL...They will go after controlling those next...but, they can't lie
then and say it's a "free country" and that Christians and The Bible
isn't being targeted and attacked, while they shove a down right unproven lie
down our children's throat as fact… (Note: He is speaking of creationism.)
From Jerry
Healan. The problem is that evolutionists have been given the opportunity to shove
their lie down everyone's throat for decades without a whimper. Freedom means
that both faith in Elohim and faith in evolution be presented and then the
people can determine for themselves. Even though one (evolution) is a great lie.
Your statement reveals that you really don't believe in freedom because you
don't want to give one minute's opportunity for the truth about creation to be
presented. It reveals that you are afraid that your lie will be discovered by
the people and they will turn to the truth (which would jeopardize your
standing).
Frankly, Shadoe, you
shouldn't worry about your standing because the TRUTH of the matter is that
people had rather believe a LIE than the TRUTH. It's built into our nature. It's
certainly built into yours. Since you believe the lie, you are mainstream.
Presently, the majority rules, so your standing is assured, but the truth will
be revealed in the end and your standing will be shown for exactly what it is,
sand. When you stand upon sand, it crumbles under your feet.
From Shadoe: What good do you think it will do children to be homeschooled in beliefs
rather than public schooled in science?
From Jerry
Healan: The fact of the matter is that people who believe in a Creator, live
longer, are blessed and happier. Homeschoolers have also been shown to be better
achievers in the schools of higher learning. My oldest daughter was homeschooled
only to the 10th grade and made one of the highest GED scores that has ever been
made. Your science is "science falsely so-called."
From Shadoe: Do you think it does children good to be shielded from their society? How
do you think they will handle it when they eventually find out what's out there?
What effect do you think they will have on society once they emerge from their
protective shell?
From Jerry
Healan: Parents who don't shield their children from the dangers and falsehoods
are abdicating their parental responsibility. Frankly, they are better able to
shield themselves from the dangers of society and are much more productive when
they have the proper goals of life in sight.
Your statements are utterly
benign and past being "stupid," Shadoe. Wake up and smell the coffee.
Jerry Healan
There are whole church systems that are built on the
doctrine of speaking in tongues. Many, when under the influence of this spirit,
fall out in the aisles, roll on the floor, fall backwards, lose control of
themselves, etc. The overall majority of these people believe that if you don't
speak in tongues, then you simply don't have the Holy Spirit. Is this a correct
doctrine? By Jerry Healan
Most of these churches are called
Pentecostal. Why? Because on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was sent to
the apostles and it caused them to speak in tongues, "And when the day of
Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And
suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it
filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them
cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all
filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the
Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout
men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the
multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard
them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying
one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? And how hear
we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? Parthians, and Medes,
and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in
Pontus, and Asia, Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya
about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, we
do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of Elohim. And they
were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth
this?" Acts 2:1-12.
Notice that they were speaking
in other tongues, but they were the tongues of the nations wherein the people
had been dispersed unto. Did the Spirit cause them to fall down; fall backward;
or roll around on the ground? Were these unknown tongues? The marvel spoken of
here is the fact that these men were Galileans, and they were speaking in the
various tongues of the nations, declaring the wonderful works of Yahweh.
In being Galileans, they were
considered to be unlearned and ignorant. Notice how the Jews viewed Peter and
John, "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men,
they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Yahshua,"
Acts 4:13. They had even considered Yahshua to be ignorant, "Now about the
midst of the feast Yahshua went up into the temple, and taught. And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth
this man letters, having never learned?" Jn. 7:14-15.
Later in the same chapter of
John it is written, "Many of the people therefore, when they heard this
saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. Others said, This is the Messiah.
But some said, Shall the Messiah come out of Galilee? Hath not the scripture
said, That the Messiah cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of
Bethlehem, where David was? So there was a division among the people because of
him. And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him. Then
came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them,
Why have ye not brought him? The officers answered, Never man spake like this
man. Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived? Have any of the
rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him? But this people
who knoweth not the law are cursed," vv. 40-49.
The giving of the Holy Spirit
was a most miraculous event! The Disciples were chiefly Galileans, considered to
be ignorant and unlearned by the most learned of the day. Yet, here they were
speaking in the tongues of all the nations that the Jews had been dispersed to!
According to the most learned,
this day of Pentecost, also called Shavuot, was the anniversary of the day that
the commandments were given at Mt. Sinai in the wilderness. Is it also possible
that this was the anniversary of the day that Yahweh divided the nations by
confusing their tongues as reported in Genesis 11:1-9? Is it also possible that
this will be the anniversary of the day when Yahweh will give his people a pure
language? "For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they
may all call upon the name of Yahweh, to serve him with one consent," Zeph.
3:9.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
Yahshua told His disciples,
"These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the
Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach
you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said
unto you," Jn. 14:25-26.
Again, He said, "But when
the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the
Father, he shall testify of me:
And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the
beginning," Jn. 15:26-27.
Notice that! The Holy Spirit was
to bring to their remembrance all that Yahshua had said unto them. The Holy
Spirit is the Spirit of truth! Yahshua said that He is the truth, "Yahshua
saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me," Jn. 14:6. So the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, will
only be witnessing to the truth, which is Yahshua the Messiah!
Yahshua followed up in John 16,
"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all
truth: for he shall not speak of himself;
but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things
to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall
receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father
hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall
take of mine, and shall shew it unto you," vv. 13-15.
Just before His ascension,
"When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Master,
wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto
them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath
put in his own power. But ye shall receive power,
after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me
both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost
part of the earth," Acts 1:6-8.
The point is that if anyone is
speaking under inspiration of the Holy Spirit, then they should be speaking of
Yahshua, Who is the truth. How many are doing that, or even understand how the
Scriptures speak of Him?
SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES
Yahshua told the people of His
day, "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and
they are they which testify of me.
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. I receive not honour from
men. But I know you, that ye have not the love of Yahweh in you. I am come in my
Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him
ye will receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and
seek not the honour that cometh from Yahweh only? Do not think that I will
accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye
trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have
believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall
ye believe my words?" Jn. 5;39-47.
In the first place, the modern
day Pentecostal movement declares that the Old Testament is done away. If this
is true, then they are declaring that Moses is no longer effectively witnessing
of Yahshua, and neither are the Psalms and prophets. But their problem is that
the truth never changes even as Yahweh never changes, "For I am Yahweh, I
change not," Mal. 3:6a. Yahshua, being the truth, never changes, "Yahshua
the Messiah the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever," Heb. 13:6.
The situation is that Yahweh has
inspired His word to be recorded in parables, types, metaphores, proverbs, etc.
These must be studied into very deeply in order to bring the truth to the light.
This certainly can't be done without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Therefore,
we have the Pentecostals who are in denial of the Scriptures that present the
Messiah to us, but then, so is modern day Christianity, and let's not also leave
out so many, many even in the assemblies who seek to establish the letter of the
law, which kills, and not the Spirit, "Not that we are sufficient of
ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of Yahweh; Who also hath made us able
ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the
letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. But if the ministration of
death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of
Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his
countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of
the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory,
much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory," 2 Cor.
3:5-9.
Do you not understand that the
ministration of the covenant of Moses was a ministration of death? But now we
have the ministration of the covenant of Yahshua, the New Covenant, which is of
the Holy Spirit and life! Does this mean that the commandments were to be done
away? Absolutely not! The promise of the New Covenant is that Yahweh is going to
give us a new body that will be incorruptible and immortal, able to receive the
fullness of the Holy Spirit, which will write Yahweh's commandments on our
hearts, "But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much
also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better
promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place
have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold,
the days come, saith Yahweh, when I will make a new covenant with the house of
Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made
with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of
the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded
them not, saith Yahweh. For this is the covenant
that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith Yahweh; I will
put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to
them an Elohim, and they shall be to me a people:
And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother,
saying, Know Yahweh: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For
I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities
will I remember no more," Heb. 8:6-12.
The problem we have is that
Christianity does not understand this, nor proclaim it, and too many of the
assemblies seek to place themselves and others under Moses' covenant, and not
under the grace of Yahshua's covenant.
EDIFICATION
The Apostle Paul had to deal
with the tongues situation. This is what he wrote, "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and
have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all
knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and
have not love, I am nothing," 1 Cor. 13:1-2.
Isn't that what Yahshua accused
the people of His day with, that is, that they had not the love of Yahweh in
them (Jn. 5:42)?
Paul expounds further,
"Follow after love, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may
prophesy. For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but
unto Elohim: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh
mysteries. But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and
exhortation, and comfort. He that
speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth
the assembly. I
would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with
tongues, except he interpret, that the assembly may receive
edifying," 1 Cor. 14:1-5.
To prophesy does mean to
foretell the future, but it can also mean to preach under the inspiration of the
Spirit. Of course, when we speak about Yahshua, we would be including Old
Testament Scriptures, and New Testament Scriptures, which both prophesy about
things He has done in the past, is doing in the present, and will do in the
future.
Paul continues, "Now,
brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you,
except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by
prophesying, or by doctrine? And even things without life giving sound, whether
pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be
known what is piped or harped? For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who
shall prepare himself to the battle? So likewise ye, except ye utter by the
tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye
shall speak into the air. There are,
it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without
signification. Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto
him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto
me. Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may
excel to the edifying of the Assembly. Wherefore let him that speaketh in an
unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in
an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the
understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the
understanding also. Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he
that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks,
seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? For thou verily givest thanks
well, but the other is not edified. I thank my Elohim, I speak with tongues more
than ye all: Yet in the assembly I had rather speak five words with my
understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand
words in an unknown tongue," 1 Cor. 14:6-19.
Isn't it clear? If we are
speaking with an unknown tongue, or even praying in an unknown tongue, what does
that do for us? He even says that if we are praying in an unknown tongue, then
our own understanding is unfruitful. True love is to give of oneself by edifying
others, rather than edifying the self so that we can exalt ourselves above
others, or declare, "Hey, look at me! I can speak in another tongue!"
This is self exaltation, not true love and humility. We should love the Father
and Son so much that we allow the Spirit to speak of them so that they can be
lifted up and as many as can receive the truth will be edified.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Years ago when I was in the
service, my name was placed on a list of those who were being transferred to
Germany. I was stationed in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, and had just gone home on
leave, so I took a little time and went home with another buddy who was also
being transferred. He lived in Maryland. When we reached his home, we discovered
that his mother was ill so I was not able to stay with his family and I had to
go to a nearby boarding house instead. The lady who ran the boarding house had a
young daughter and we became interested in each other.
I did not know that these people
were Pentecostal, but when Sunday came I attended church with them. The services
seemed to be okay, but then the minister got up to give the message. He had a
few opening words, and then went into a hellfire and brimstone sermon, at least
that is what it sounded like, but the problem was that I couldn't understand a
word that this man was saying. On the way home, the girl mentioned to her
parents that Brother so-and-so certainly gave a good message today, but I was
sitting there wondering what he had said and also how in the world that she
understood what he said.
I was certainly sitting in the
place of the unlearned at that time and couldn't say Amen to the message since I
couldn't understand it.
However, if a person is sent a
message by the Spirit in another tongue, then the person should make sure that
there is someone there who has the gift of interpretation, or they should just
sit and keep their peace.
Yahweh is not the author of
confusion, "For Yahweh is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in
all assemblies of the saints," 1 Cor. 14:33. Therefore, there should be no
commotions, no falling out on the floor, rolling all around, speaking out of
place, etc. If a person is given a message of tongues for the brethren, then he
should make arrangements with those who are conducting the services, and they
should also make sure that there is an interpreter available.
THE FRUITS
How can we know whether someone
is under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit or not? Are they speaking the
wonderful works of Yahweh that He made through Yahshua the Messiah? Or are they
coming up with some kind of gobble-de-gook that is unintelligible? Shouldn't we
be able to test them according to their actions and their fruits, "Beware
of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are
ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of
thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit;
but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth
evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that
bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by
their fruits ye shall know them," Mt. 7:15-20.
John also encourages us to test
or try the spirits, "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits
whether they are of Yahweh: because many false prophets are gone out into the
world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of Yahweh: Every spirit that confesseth that
Yahshua the Messiah is come in the flesh is of Yahweh: And every spirit that
confesseth not that Yahshua the Messiah is come in the flesh is not of Yahweh:
and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should
come; and even now already is it in the world," 1 Jn. 4:1-3.
YAHSHUA'S IDENTITY
Now, here is a key to understand
who Yahshua was, is, and will be. What is so special about declaring that
Yahshua came in the flesh? One of the problems that we have in the world, and
even in some of the assemblies is that they refuse to believe Who Yahshua was
before His human birth.
Doesn't the Apostle John declare
that Yahshua is the word who was with Elohim/Yahweh and was Elohim/Yahweh?
Doesn't he declare that this word became flesh, and dwelt among us and that the
world was made by Him, but didn't recognize Him? (Jn. 1:1-17) Doesn't the
Apostle Paul declare that He was Elohim, but emptied Himself of that glory and
honor to become a man and suffer death for us? (Phil. 2:5-8) When Thomas was
shown the nail holes in His hands and the hole in His side where the spear
pierced it, didn't he declare, "My Sovereign, and My Elohim?" (Jn.
20:24-28)
The Pictorial Hebrew declares
the truth of the matter. The name Yahweh in modern day Hebrew is hwhy,
but it looks like this efei
in Pictorial Hebrew. Remember that Hebrew reads from right to left. The first
letter yod (i) is the picture of a hand.
The hei (e) has to do with revelation,
lo, behold, a window, etc. The waw
(f) is the picture of a nail or
tent peg. Therefore, the English rendering of this pictorial word would be
"Behold the hand, behold the nail!"
Yahshua was, is, and always will
be the great Creator Yahweh. He was not the Heavenly Father Who has always
remained in the holiest place, but He was the Word of Yahweh Who was at the
Father's right hand.
So here is a test; are those speaking in tongues commandment keepers? Do they keep the Sabbath, and Holy Days? Do they abide by the clean food laws? Do they understand how Moses has written about Yahshua? Are they growing in the grace and knowledge of Yahshua the Messiah? Do they accept or reject the true names? Do they speak out of turn? Do they disrupt services? Do they embrace and teach out of both Testaments? We could go on and on, but the great majority (NOTE: I said the great majority) already fail concerning these test questions. Therefore, we will have to declare that their speaking in tongues is not of the Holy Spirit, but another more sinister and deceptive spirit.
QUESTION: I am confused about something. I once
received the baptism, or what I believed to be the baptism of the Ruak Ha Qodesh
while I was in a non-denominational church. I spoke in other tongues & felt
clean, pure, & spiritually cleansed. The tongues clearly came from a power
other than myself, but apparently, with what I’m being taught, this could’ve
been a deception. I was praying to God in Jesus’ name. I have no doubt about
my faith in Yahshua & YHWH, but do you have any opinions on what happened to
me that night? Could Yahweh bless someone with a true spiritual gift if they
were completely ignorant of His true name & His Son’s true name, only
operating in faith and what they were taught & believed was the truth? I
would appreciate your thoughts.
ANSWER: The Holy Spirit was given on the day of
Pentecost as recorded in Acts 2, with the believers speaking in the various
tongues of the nations of the people gathered at Jerusalem. The tongues were not
unknown tongues, but rather, known tongues. Yahweh did this in order to get
people’s attention, as He always does when He is starting something new.
Cornelius and his group also spoke in tongues when the Holy Spirit descended
upon them. Why? So that Peter, a Hebrew and a member of the chosen ones would
know that Yahweh was also now calling non-Hebrews.
The Holy Spirit (ruach ha qodesh) is just
that, the Holy Spirit. The Hebrew word for “Holy” is qodesh. It has to do
with being clean and pure. How do we cleanse ourselves?
Peter gives the true formula, “Repent everyone of you and be baptized
in the name of Yahshua the Messiah for the remission of your sins and you shall
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit,” Acts 2:38. Psalms 119:9-10 says,
“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto
according to thy word. 10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy
commandments.” We
cleanse ourselves through Yahweh’s Word, which is Yahshua. We are led to be
baptized in His name and then we seek to walk in accordance with His
commandments.
The Holy Spirit is also the Spirit of Love (ruach
ha ahav) and the Spirit of Truth (ruach ha emet). Thus, when you received this
spirit of speaking in tongues, did it lead you into the paths of being qodesh
(holy, clean, pure)? Were you convicted to begin walking in Yahweh’s
commandments which define what sin is so we can know and avoid it? Did it fill
your heart with the love, especially for the Creator Who desires us to love Him
with all of our heart and mind? If we love Him that way, then we will want to
learn as much as we can about Him. It will lead us to His true name and the true
name of the Savior. It will lead us to the truth. Did you begin to experience
the Spirit leading you into these things, or did you just have some kind of
experience?
Many people have these experiences, but are
never led to repent of their sins. They don’t even know what sin is. The Holy
Spirit will lead one into the truth of the names, the commandments, the Sabbath,
etc. As a matter of fact, the overall majority of those who speak in tongues
resist these truths, which is an indicator that they just had a deceptive
religious experience, but did not receive the Holy Spirit.
Also, Yahweh blesses the good and the evil in
this day and age, and can give anyone gifts, but how long do you think a person
will be blessed if what they hold in their faith is error, and falsehoods? He
does wink at our ignorance, but expects us to seek Him and His ways so we can be
corrected and serve Him in Spirit and in truth.
QUESTION: Can you still be saved if you continue to
say “God” and “Jesus?”
ANSWER: What do you want the answer to this question
to be? Do you want us to say, “Go ahead, there is no problem! Of course, you
can still be saved!” We are sorry, but we simply can’t say that. If you have
come to the knowledge of the truth, that the Father’s name was never God, and
that the Son’s name was never Jesus, why would you desire to continue to
commit error?
Yahshua said, “Elohim/Yahweh is spirit, and
those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth,” Jn. 4:24. You have
been worshipping you know not what, as Yahshua charged the women. You have been
deceived to utilize substitute words, titles and names for the Father and Son.
When we discover our error, we are supposed to repent (Acts 2:38), and then walk
in the truth.
We would encourage you not to be as others who
prefer to walk in the darkness, “this is the condemnation, that light is come
into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds
were evil,” Jn. 3:19.
We either love the truth and the light, or we
love darkness and evil. Now that truth is come we encourage you to walk in it.
It will be much better for you.
QUESTION: Please explain – Matthew 24:40-41 &
Luke 17:34-36. One is taken, and one stays. Which do we want to be? And why? Is
the answer in Scripture? Where? Also Matthew 25 talks about the ten virgins;
five are taken and five stay: the door is shut. Can these two be viewed as the
same but on different levels (i.e. level 1; Mat. 25; level 2; Mat. 24:40-41
& Lk. 17:34-36? Thank you so much for your help every time concerning these
matters.
ANSWER: Firstly, we need to go back into Matthew 24
because in verse four Yahshua begins to warn that deception was going to be a
great issue. We find this deception taking root even in the apostle’s day in
Paul’s epistles, John’s, Peter’s, and Jude’s. How soon, after Adam and
Eve were placed into the Garden of Eden, did the serpent enter to deceive? Jude
and Peter both warned against false prophets that would be among the people, as
well as those who would come in secretly seeking to pervert, twist, and change
the good news of the Messiah.
Before Yahweh destroyed the earth with a
flood, Yahweh had Noah and his family tucked away safely in the ark, then the
disaster came. Before the destruction that came on Sodom and Gomorrah, Yahweh
delivered Lot and his daughters out of that area. We do know in the chronology
of Matthew 24 that the great tribulation will come before Yahshua takes His
people out of harm’s way by the sound of the seventh trumpet. After this, the
destruction will come on the beast and his worshippers through the seven vials
that will be poured out upon them.
In Matthew 25, five of the virgins are
prepared with enough of the oil for their lamps to enter with the Bridegroom,
but the five foolish neglected their preparation, and were out trying to find
enough when the Bridegroom came, so they were shut out.
The lesson is
that we need to be prepared for the disaster that is coming upon this world so
that we can escape the destruction.
